Shen Ru helped Mo Yu complete the Mechanical Giant while discovering how the Instance used human bodies and machinery. After the system malfunctioned, Shen Ru entered Virtual Town, where he uncovered the town’s cannibalism and the Puppets’ human occupants.

• Shen Ru changed his mission to repair the Mechanical Giant, then led players through its blood-filled passages and killed an electric eel while completing a repair task.
• Shen Ru exposed the Giant’s human contents, killed An Ke and Fang Ce after an illusion confused him, and persuaded the players to join his mission with Mo Yu.
• Shen Ru discovered the Giant was an extension of his body, then delayed its brain repairs with an S-Rank Ghost Wall card that trapped the players in their fears.
• Mo Yu announced that the system had malfunctioned, and he and Shen Ru learned that fragments of its consciousness had escaped into other instances.
• Shen Ru entered Virtual Town, confronted the Puppeteer, and escaped the puppet shop with Sheng Ziyao after the system placed them in bounty mode.
• Shen Ru and Mo Yu triggered the Church’s illusion, where the praying townspeople became Puppets and Shen Ru discovered living people inside them.
• Shen Ru dug up a dead Player’s notes and learned that townspeople cooked newcomers, then led a scheme to expose the Mayor.
• The Mayor explained that rule-breaking New Residents became victims, but God’s fire killed him before he could explain the town’s population limit, and Shen Ru saw his final words, “Eternal Life Game.”

Shen Ru and Mo Yu destroyed the Puppeteer’s hold over the puppet town, then entered an Entertainment Channel instance tied to a haunted photograph. They faced deadly rooms and traps in the Silent Photo Studio as Shen Ru pushed ahead with his own brutal methods.

• Shen Ru exposed the puppet town’s monsters and discovered that player flesh kept them young, then learned the town was the instance’s real world.
• Shen Ru and the others entered the New World, where Shen Ru escaped his restraints and investigated the god-making factory with Mo Yu.
• Shen Ru posed as God’s Envoy, drew Faith Power from the believers, and destroyed the statue, breaking the system and driving the Puppeteer from the instance.
• After leaving the instance, Shen Ru and Mo Yu traveled to the Entertainment Channel and investigated the Silent Photo Studio’s photograph of four figures.
• Shen Ru, Mo Yu, Su Ziqiu, and the other players entered the “A Family of Three” test instance, where Shen Ru exposed a human face beneath a studio door’s skin.
• Ou Ning was killed by the human skins, and Shen Ru confronted Fang Wenhong before leading the group into a room where the Puppeteer used false memories and copies of Shen Ru against them.
• Shen Ru and Mo Yu killed the fake Shen Rus and escaped the room, then Shen Ru entered the restroom with Su Ziqiu and Fang Wenhong.
• Fang Wenhong died in the restroom trap, and Shen Ru worked out the shifting warnings before fleeing a decomposing creature with Su Ziqiu.

Shen Ru escaped the Puppeteer’s confinement and entered an evolution game with Mo Yu, where he uncovered a scheme involving Xie Chi and underwent a rare positive mutation. The arc ended with Shen Ru exposing and killing Xie Chi as a mutant horde attacked the Factory.

• Shen Ru confronted the Puppeteer in the Photo Studio illusion, learned he wanted Shen Ru’s malice to build another Infinite Channel, and negotiated a future meeting.
• Shen Ru returned to Mo Yu, who became jealous and used an Anklet to confine him, but Shen Ru forced Mo Yu to unlock it before the new instance began.
• Shen Ru and Mo Yu entered the Uncontrolled Evolution wasteland, where Shen Ru learned that reverse-evolved humans could slow mutation by drinking the blood of forward-evolved people.
• Shen Ru joined forces with Xie Chi’s survivors at the Factory, then set out with Mo Yu and others to recruit allies and gather supplies.
• Shen Ru’s group encountered monsters and reunited with Wei Lanxing’s team at a supermarket, where Shen Ru tested a mutant’s blood and discovered that he was undergoing forward mutation.
• Shen Ru survived repeated death and revival as his body evolved, then used his rose-scented power to threaten players who demanded that he reveal how to trigger positive evolution.
• Shen Ru returned to the Factory with Wei Lanxing and questioned Xie Chi, suspecting the Puppeteer had used him to expose Shen Ru to the virus.
• As a mutant horde attacked the Factory, Shen Ru restrained Xie Chi with Mo Yu’s help and killed him in front of the survivors.
