Che Quan set the frame back on the desk. The instant he put it down, the entire mayor's office underwent a drastic transformation.
The once bright, spotless room became a filthy mess. Dust covered the floor, and cobwebs filled every corner. It looked as though no one had cleaned it in ages, no different from an abandoned building.
Unlike the office they had seen earlier, the filing cabinets were crammed with documents, as was the couch. Some documents lay open, as though someone had been looking through them, and were thick with cobwebs.
Spiders of all sizes crawled everywhere, making Meng Le frown.
Fortunately, the office door was closed.
Ju Lei glanced around. Seeing none of those so-called "staff members"-monsters wearing human skin-looming ominously in the doorway, he let out a huge sigh of relief.
At last, they had some breathing room to take a proper look around.
