Wei Yanchi had burned the Book of Creation, 455 and 730 had gone to check the world's stability, the Demon had been shattered into pieces and driven back to Hell, and Hu Songlin had voluntarily returned to the Club to confess. Both the Laboratory and the Club had been given quite a fright by this Worldline alteration. Any further scheming would probably have to wait until next time.
Before all that, he had obtained partial authority over the Instance, and now he was a Special-Class NPC in every sense.
Xie De spun in his swivel chair, wondering what else he had overlooked.
The Butler came upstairs and knocked on the door, saying with gentlemanly courtesy, "Sir, a friend of yours has come to visit."
A friend who could travel freely between Instances.
"Anbers?"
He jolted upright as if rising from his deathbed. Where had Wei Yunmo gone?
When the Worldline had changed earlier, 455 seemed to have mentioned that Wei Yunmo was supposed to be at the Arctic Base in the first place, so his location hadn't changed at all. Wei Yunmo should still be at the Arctic Base now.
What a screwup. He had actually left him there.
In the first-floor hall of the Castle, pine logs burned in the fireplace, and a little perfume had been sprayed into the air. The Butler brought over a pot of black tea, elegantly poured a cup, and gently set it before Anbers. "Please enjoy."
Anbers wore his usual outfit: a top hat above his bird-beak mask, black robes, and a cross necklace. His back slightly hunched, he lounged carelessly on the sofa. Xie De's sofa was big enough for him to stretch out his long arms and legs.
"Thank you."
