My home became a murder house

There wasn't a cloud in the sky today. The weather was lovely.

Returning from the bustling metropolis to the monotonous little county town, Xie De felt he could finally put his anxious heart at ease. But when he got home, he realized his heart could finally just give up and die.

His little two-bedroom apartment had been trashed into something resembling a murder scene! Sticky blood was everywhere, and there were even pieces of human bodies on the floor. The sofa he always sat on had been dismembered. Was this his home or Syria?

Why were his eyes so often filled with tears?

Because the little apartment he'd bought with a loan-and only finished paying off last year-had become a murder house.

"455, the villain's dead. I think I might as well join him."

"Wait, the villain isn't dead. Don't start grieving yet." 455 scanned the apartment. "I found him. He's in the kitchen, alive and well, with all his limbs intact. This blood might be someone else's."

While they spoke, the little house centipede crawled over along the wall, sobbing as though it had suffered endless grievances. The villain had frightened it badly. It perched on Xie De's shoulder and gestured frantically.

455 translated for a while. "Oh, it's saying that on the night we left, a burglar opened the door and came in. Then the villain killed him instead. The villain chopped his body into pieces, and they're still in the fridge."

Oh my God.

Xie De's skin crawled. He'd killed people too, but he'd been quick and clean about it. What the hell was this business of keeping a corpse in the fridge?

Now he really was going to cry.

The kitchen door opened a crack, and the villain peeked out before obediently walking over. His clothes were covered in blood. He looked as though someone had fished him out of a pool of it.

"I killed a thief. He wanted to steal your money."

"I know." 39's voice was perfectly calm, because Xie De had already shattered inside.

Wei Yunmo rubbed his stomach. "I'm hungry."

So was he. Xie De closed his eyes in despair. "I remember there was food in the kitchen."

"I already ate it all." Wei Yunmo looked at him sheepishly. "I did a lot of hard physical work, so I got hungry pretty quickly."

That certainly had been a lot of hard physical work.

With things having come to this, Xie De fished out a cigarette and lit it. There was almost no emotion in his voice. "Are you hurt?"

Whatever a monstrous, formidable freak the villain might become in the future, right now he was just a little brat who didn't even reach Xie De's shoulder. Killing an adult who'd come prepared to commit burglary had to be pushing the limits of what a child could manage, didn't it?

Wei Yunmo shook his head. "No. He was very weak."

Fine.

Expressionless, Xie De took a hard drag on his cigarette. "Go take a shower. I'll take you out to eat."

"Okay!" Wei Yunmo beamed.

Xie De felt utterly miserable.

Why did his life have to be one disaster after another?

First of all, after something like this happened, he couldn't call the police. He was a murderer himself. What business did he have calling them? Besides, the kid had grown up in the Laboratory and killed a burglar who'd broken into the apartment to protect himself. His actions might have been a little excessive, but it really wasn't a clear-cut situation.

Second, how was he supposed to dispose of the body? What would he say if the police came asking questions?

Finally, what was he supposed to do with the villain? He kept feeling that the villain was a little antisocial. He couldn't keep raising him in secret forever, could he?

And his apartment really had become a murder house. Was it going to be haunted now?

While everything on Xie De's end was a complete mess.

Wei Yanchi had also flown back to Magic City. Carrying his suitcase in one hand and typing on his phone with the other, he couldn't keep the smile off his face.

First, he typed, "Good afternoon, Mr. 39. Have you eaten?" Then he deleted it and started composing a new message.

After ages, he still hadn't sent a single message.

The smile on his lips turned into a troubled frown as he kept pondering what to send. Only after walking all the way back to the Coffin Shop on Antique Street did he finally send one.

"Mr. 39, are you interested in trading items?"

39 didn't reply.

Xiao Jiejun, the shop assistant, came over to help with his luggage. "Boss, who are you messaging? Did your trip go smoothly?"

"Very smoothly." Wei Yanchi stretched. "Did anything happen at the shop while I was away?"

"No, except Miss Yue Xiamo stopped by and bought a silver urn."
