Xie De and 455 found themselves in the haunted hotel from The Shining, while Wei Yanchi arrived there burdened by embarrassment over his behavior in the previous impression world. The chapter left Xie De setting out to explore the hotel with Wei Yanchi.

• The Club and the Laboratory fought destructively as Orion and Ying Lin scanned the area and found three approaching heat signatures southeast of town.

• 455 admitted that it had escaped the Main God Space and crippled the Main God System, and Xie De revealed he had already suspected something was off.
• 455 explained that it chose Xie De because he could enter Instances and take it into the Otherworld, and the two expressed gratitude for their partnership.
• 455 told Xie De that Experimental Subject No. 1 was the Book of Creation, the origin of their world, which 730 said no one was allowed to study.

Xie De followed Coal Ball through the library and was drawn into an illusion that replayed his past instances. After recognizing and rejecting the illusion’s traps, he wondered whether killing the people who appeared in it meant he had killed himself, then reached an oasis.

They learned they had to resolve the mother’s lingering obsession and take the little Shen to the Eastern Sea, while other organizations might pursue its Shen Pearl.
