Background / History

Tang Hao is the son of Tang Zhen and grandson of Tang Chen. Alongside his brother Tang Xiao, he met Ah Yin; the three initially swore themselves as siblings. Tang Hao and Ah Yin later married in seclusion, and Ah Yin became pregnant. 106 107

He informed Tang Zhen of the marriage and pregnancy by letter, demanding that his father accept Ah Yin or lose any chance to see Tang San. Tang Zhen rejected the relationship, regarding Ah Yin's identity as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in human form as a threat to the Clear Sky Sect. 107

Tang Hao later brought Ah Yin to Yake City, believing his father had arranged a residence for them. There, he realized Tang Zhen had arranged for them to encounter Spirit Hall Pope Qian Xunji, allowing Ah Yin's identity to be exposed. Tang Hao escaped the city with Ah Yin, but Spirit Hall subsequently began a sustained pursuit of the couple. 108 109 Tang Hao later reveals that Tang Zhen deliberately exposed them to Spirit Hall to protect the sect and obtain Ah Yin's spirit ring and soul bone. 164

During the pursuit, Tang Hao and Ah Yin's newborn son died. When Ah Yin later concludes that Tang San is an occupant of their child's body rather than their biological son, Tang Hao refuses to abandon him, insisting that the child he raised remains his real son. 124 125

Tang Hao is fiercely protective of his family. He defies Tang Zhen to remain with Ah Yin, escapes with her when Spirit Hall exposes her identity, and later intervenes personally when Spirit Hall attempts to seize Tang San. 107 108 91

He is defiant and proud before powerful opponents, dismissing Bibi Dong, Yue Guan, and Gui Mei as unworthy of killing him. His willingness to use Ring Detonation as a diversion also shows tactical decisiveness: he prioritizes Tang San's escape over winning a prolonged battle. 91

His loyalty to the Clear Sky Sect remains intense. Returning to find the sect in ruins leaves him grief-stricken and enraged, and he immediately suspects Spirit Hall. 155

Reunion with Tang Chen and the Clear Sky Sect's Fall
