But after Li Xian took a couple of bites, the fork reached toward Ji Xie again-
They couldn't communicate right now, and Ji Xie had no way to explain that he wanted to leave all the cake for Li Xian. The tip of his tentacle flicked twice in frustration, then suddenly changed position-snatching the fork from Li Xian's hand.
Li Xian didn't know what Ji Xie wanted to do, but he let go anyway and watched curiously to see what he would do next.
After curling his tentacle around the fork, Ji Xie struggled with its balance for quite a while before finally holding it steady in midair. Then he inched forward twice, wobbling as he raised the fork-
Li Xian lowered his head slightly and noticed that the fork adjusted its direction along with him, as though it was... being offered to his mouth?
So Li Xian lowered his head a little farther, even deliberately tilting it to one side, and the tentacle moved across the table to follow him.
By now, Li Xian had more or less understood what Ji Xie meant-
Eat it yourself. You don't need to give me any more.
The gesture would have been rather intimate if a human had done it, but precisely because Ji Xie wasn't in human form right now, Li Xian had been able to hold the cake to his "mouth" earlier without any misgivings.
So this scene looked rather funny, too.
Li Xian followed Ji Xie's movements and successfully let himself be "fed" a bite. Then he took the fork back from the little tentacle and slowly finished the rest of the cake himself.
After a quick cleanup, he climbed into bed with Ji Xie tucked in his pocket.
