Gu Yunxiao awakened the Heavenly Tribulation Demon Dragon, gained the Ice God’s blessing, and was named the Soul Beast Clan’s young lord. After years of training, he met Gu Yuena, learned how his power could aid her, and continued testing his strength in combat.
Gu Yunxiao left the Soul Beast Clan and enrolled at Shrek Academy, where his extraordinary strength drew the attention of the academy’s leaders. He became a student in both departments, met new classmates, and reconnected with Jiang Nannan.
Gu Yunxiao left Shrek Academy to obtain profound ice marrow, secure his fourth soul ring, and help the Snow Empress and Ice Empress survive their tribulations. He reclaimed the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, reached Soul King, and began absorbing a hundred-thousand-year soul ring from the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass.
Gu Yunxiao founded the Dragon God Hall by bringing the Earth Dragon Sect and Heavenly Dragon Sect into his plans, then returned to Shrek Academy and negotiated a costly treatment for Ma Xiaotao's evil fire. The arc left Ma Xiaotao's fire suppressed for six months while Gu Yunxiao's new organization and ties at the academy continued to grow.
Gu Yunxiao drew Wu Feng and Ning Tian toward his faction, won the freshman assessment, and entered Shrek’s Inner Court while pursuing its most talented members. His wagered spar with Zhang Lexuan ended with her frozen by his Ice Soul Arrow, leaving Shrek Academy to honor the challenge as he prepared his fifth soul skill.
Gu Yunxiao won Zhang Lexuan’s freedom from her engagement and brought her and other allies into his orbit while building the Dragon God Hall in Dragon City. The Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect joined his organization, and Xuan Zi learned that Gu Yunxiao was not a Clear Sky Sect successor as Shrek Academy had believed.
Gu Yunxiao expanded the Dragon God Hall by recruiting former Shrek students and drawing Shrek Academy into conflict as Mu En died and Xuan Zi’s bloodline erupted. He then began training the Dragon God Team for the tournament, while a disturbance at their camp left the seven women ready for an attack.
Gu Yunxiao prepared his team for the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament while Shrek’s mission against the Death Messengers left several students dead or gravely injured. The Dragon God Team won its early matches, and Gu Yunxiao acquired the dangerous Spirit-Devouring Carving Knife before discussing the balance of power with Xu Jiujiu.
Gu Yunxiao strengthened Dragon God Hall, revealed his power during the tournament, and led his team through the knockout rounds. After Shrek defeated the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy, the Dragon God Team and Shrek began the final team battle.
