Background / History

Jiang Yi transmigrated eighteen years before recovering his past-life memories. He was born in Jiang Family Village and remained muddle-headed for much of his early life. A bandit raid destroyed the village; his parents died protecting him, while Jiang Yi and surviving villagers were taken to Black Wind Mountain as mine slaves. His awakening revealed the Life Master panel, which converts enemies' lifespans into his own and allows lifespan to be spent on simulated cultivation. 1

After using the system to perfect Rock Steadiness Fist, Jiang Yi fought his way out of the mine. He later annihilated Black Wind Stronghold, killed its martial artists, and returned to the mine to free the remaining slaves rather than leave them behind. 3 21

He joined the Fishing Guild under Liu Sheng, accepted a post in Qiaonan, and rose to become “Postmaster Jiang.” His campaigns against the Evil Wolf Gang, the Liu Family, the Li Family, and other hostile forces rapidly supplied the lifespan needed for his progression. 9 27 41 57

Following his rise through the lower realm, Jiang Yi discovered that ascension was a trap and travelled to the Upper Realm with Nangong Yao. He was immediately captured and once again designated a mine slave, echoing the beginning of his life, but he escaped by killing a Wu Clan cultivator and adapting to the Upper Realm's hierarchy. 150 173 175

Jiang Yi gained the notice of Venerable Chi Yuan, received chapters of the Phoenix Heaven Ancient Scripture, and was eventually established within the Phoenix Heaven Ancient Sect. The destruction of Jiang Family Village instilled in him a lasting hatred for those who exploit the weak, while the Life Master system made killing powerful enemies central to his survival and advancement. His ruthlessness is balanced by a clear sense of obligation toward victims of oppression.
