History

Jiang Yi first obtained the black Great Halberd from the Huang family's armory after requesting a heavy weapon. It had belonged to a friend of the Huang family patriarch from the Hegemon Body Sect before being passed to the family. Neither Huang San nor the Huang family knew its forging materials. 39

The weapon immediately suited Jiang Yi's fighting style. Although it weighed several thousand catties, he considered it somewhat light compared with his own strength. It replaced his damaged saber and became his main weapon throughout the Lower Realm. 39

After Jiang Yi killed members of the Liu family, the black halberd remained smooth and undamaged despite being covered in blood and gore. Its increasingly fierce aura led Jiang Yi to suspect it possessed latent sentience, potentially making it a Spirit Weapon. 41

Jiang Yi later left this original halberd behind in the Lower Realm. In an Upper Realm ancient Saint Realm, he discovered a silver halberd containing a trace of Void Ancient Gold and residual sentience. He chose it as a replacement weapon. 265 266

As Jiang Yi's cultivation rose, the silver halberd could no longer bear his full power. After acquiring more Void Ancient Gold, he reforged it using True Fire, Dao patterns, and his Primordial Chaos Great Dao, creating the Void Battle Halberd. 513 515

The original weapon was approximately two meters long, completely black, cold to the touch, and heavy enough to require considerable Blood Essence from ordinary Blood Qi Realm martial artists. 39
