"What exactly is the deal with that Tan Man Zenin?"

Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto sat atop a flying cursed spirit as Geto put the question to Gojo.

On Masamichi Yaga's orders, they were actively searching for the Star Plasma Vessel, Riko Amanai.

It was already late at night, which was the only reason they could fly through the sky on a cursed spirit so openly.

Yet Geto still could not shake the sense that something had been off about Tan Man when he met him that afternoon.

Gojo was studying the photo of Riko Amanai that Yaga had sent to his phone. The moment he heard Tan Man's name leave Geto's mouth, his expression soured, and he snapped back.

"If you're so interested, why don't you ask him yourself?"

Geto shot back irritably.

"What's wrong? Are you sulking because you lost to him again?"

Gojo immediately jabbed his phone against Geto's chest, correcting him in irritation.

"Let me set you straight. What do you mean, I lost? We just didn't keep going. If we had, his cursed energy would've run out before mine. I definitely would've won in the end!"

Of course, Gojo meant that thanks to his Six Eyes, using his cursed technique cost him next to nothing. That advantage alone made him practically unbeatable in a prolonged fight, but Geto mercilessly called him out.

"Oh, please. From where we were standing, it looked like you couldn't beat him, got knocked to the ground, and were spared at the end!"

Gojo bared his teeth in anger, but Geto was telling the truth. After a long silence, unable to find any way to argue back, he finally managed a single, deflated remark.

"That guy's cursed technique is a pain."

Seeing that Gojo had finally conceded, Geto stopped arguing with him. He mulled that over, then pressed further.

"You mean that wide-area technique is tricky even for you to deal with?"

Gojo immediately waved him off and gave Geto a scornful glance, as though asking if he was an idiot, before retorting.

"Not that one. That's only more annoying than your average technique. The problem is his eyes."

"What about his eyes?"

As Geto murmured the question, he recalled Tan Man's Golden Eyes, which left a lasting impression after even a single glance.

"I don't know exactly how it works, but looking into his eyes seemed to pull me into an incredibly realistic illusion. Even my Six Eyes couldn't pick up how he activated that technique. I couldn't see any movement of cursed energy at all."

Gojo frowned as he recalled it.

Geto was startled by what he heard.

"It's a technique even you can't see through?"

Gojo hated being asked that, but it was the truth. All he could do was scratch his head in frustration and roll his eyes at Geto as he retorted.

"If I could see through it, would things have ended the way you saw?"

Just as Geto and Gojo were about to start arguing again, Yaga called to inform them that something unusual had happened at the Time Vessel Association's headquarters.

Since the Time Vessel Association had always been hostile toward the Star Plasma Vessel, Yaga had sent the two of them over as soon as he received the news.

Once they arrived, Gojo planted his hands on his hips and surveyed the ruins of the Time Vessel Association before him, unable to help remarking.

"No sign of a Curtain being used at all, and the cursed residue is still this thick. Whoever did this really went all out."

Geto could not resist taking a jab at him.

"Don't tell me you're jealous that they could use their technique however they wanted without putting up a Curtain?"

With his Six Eyes, Gojo noticed what lay within the ruins before Geto did, but his tone remained casual.

"Better to focus on that than try to work out how many people died from the mashed flesh in the rubble, right?"

At Gojo's words, Geto immediately realized something and directed his cursed spirit to push aside the surface rubble.

A heavy stench of blood hit them head-on, and a horrifying sight unfolded before their eyes: flesh that had lost all semblance of human form lay everywhere, along with organs and tissue scattered in every direction.
