Arc 1Raven Port Showdown

Gawain built up his crew by defeating Morgans and recruiting Kuro, then sailed to Raven Port for supplies. After uncovering Krieg’s plan to seize the port, Gawain accepted Gaza’s offer to defend it and was promised the Great Grade sword Kansei Masamune.

  • Gawain killed Lancer, rallied his stranded crew, and trained them until he unlocked Godspeed and exposed Jamila as a Marine informant.
  • Gawain killed Morgans, seized a Navy warship, and learned his bounty had risen to 48 million berries.

Arc 2The Navigator and the Storm

Gawain defeated Krieg, escaped Smoker, and built up his crew while Kuro and Akin trained under him. As the crew sailed toward Arlong’s territory, they rescued Nami, who proved her worth as a navigator and headed with them toward Cocoyasi Village.

  • Gawain killed Krieg after defeating him, then fought Smoker long enough for Kuro and the others to escape Raven Port.
  • The Raven Port civilians protected Gawain and Gaza from Smoker’s Marines, and Gawain later sailed away with the injured Akin and his crew.

Arc 3A Challenge at Baratie

Gawain defeated Arlong, recruited Zoro, and continued training with his crew while preparing to enter the Grand Line. When Hawk Eyes Mihawk held the Catman Brothers captive, Gawain went to Baratie to save them and faced Mihawk after Zoro was wounded.

  • Gawain killed Arlong and helped Cocoyasi Village recover, while Rat's attempt to massacre the villagers ended with his arrest.
  • Nami joined Gawain's crew as its navigator, and the pirates sailed to Beast Island, where Gawain met Zoro and defeated him in their first fight.
  • After repeated challenges, Zoro asked Gawain to guide him, joined the crew, and began training alongside Kuro and Akin.

  • Gawain survived his duel with Hawk Eyes, awakened Armament Haki, and later recognized how far he still had to grow.
  • Gawain welcomed Sanji aboard, then set a three-month deadline for entering the Grand Line and launched a tournament to motivate his crew to train.
