Arc 13The Road to Britannia

Gawain’s crew freed Fish-Man Island from Hody’s coup, formed an alliance with Neptune, and established the Gawain Grand Fleet. In Britannia, the Divine Knights abducted Akin, while Gawain’s crew set out to rescue him and Akin escaped with Tesoro and Dice.

  • Gawain recruited Cavendish, whose grueling training transformed him and led him to train his former subordinates.
  • At the Human Auction House, Gawain rescued the Fairy Race woman and the other captives from Doflamingo, and Fan-Oka resolved to become stronger.
  • Gawain’s crew reached Fish-Man Island, where they exposed Hody’s plot, defeated his forces, and rescued Shirahoshi and Neptune.
  • Neptune allied with Gawain, who established the Gawain Grand Fleet and set out for Britannia after learning the Divine Knights sought Akin’s Bone-Bone Fruit.

Arc 14Britannia’s Destruction

Gawain and his allies defeated Wales and freed Britannia from the Heavenly Awakening Church, only for Jeanne and Uranus to devastate Avalon. Gawain survived with his crew, learned the World Government had destroyed Britannia with an Ancient Weapon, and resolved to fight back with his companions.

  • Gawain defeated Big Mom and Shamrock, rejected Imu’s offer of eternal life, and reunited with Tesoro, who pledged to fund his rise.
  • Bevel drew the Sword in the Stone and joined Gawain, while Jeanne found the sleeping White Dragon Fafnir beneath Avalon’s ruins.
  • Gawain and his allies confronted Wales and his controlled civilians, and Fan-Oka discovered that seawater salt could break the Angel Fruit’s influence.
  • After fighting Wales for nine days, Gawain reached level seven Conqueror’s Haki, drowned Wales at sea, and ended the church’s control over Britannia.
  • Jeanne took over Fafnir’s body and attacked Avalon, but Bevel dropped her into an underground lava lake before she returned and laid waste to the city.

Arc 15The Road to Marineford

Gawain joined the coming Summit War while his allies prepared to infiltrate Impel Down, where Luffy and Rayleigh led a prison break and Kuro pursued Vegapunk’s secrets. The prison revolt ended in a cover-up as Marineford’s forces gathered for Ace’s execution.

  • Katakuri became Whole Cake Island’s New King after Big Mom vanished, while Zephyr and Fujitora broke with the World Government and formed the Neo Navy.
  • Morgan handed Britannia to Gawain, who named the settlement Holy Land Camelot and used the Sea Emperor badge to strengthen his crew as Britannia rose to power.
  • Gawain’s crew held ranking matches, where Zoro defeated Sanji, Bevel beat Law, and Akin awakened combat instinct during his fight with Kuro and reached Lower Legendary strength.
  • Fujitora told Gawain that Blackbeard had defeated Ace, and Gawain later agreed to attend the Navy’s prewar conference after learning Ace would be executed.
  • Gawain joined the Shichibukai meeting, wounded Blackbeard over his attack on Drum Kingdom, and secretly planted a gold coin on him.

Gawain confronted Whitebeard at Marineford as the battle for Ace drew in pirates from across the world, and Whitebeard’s final declaration that One Piece was real ignited worldwide upheaval. After Zephyr’s death, Smoker and Fujitora joined Gawain’s Britannia, while Gawain recruited Bullet and prepared to draw powerful fighters to his tournament.

  • Whitebeard surfaced at Marineford and clashed with the Navy, while Gawain repeatedly drove him back as Whitebeard fought to reach Ace.
  • Luffy, Ace’s allies, and the Whitebeard Pirates broke through the Marines, but Whitebeard stayed behind to protect their escape and died standing after declaring that One Piece was real.
  • Blackbeard tried to take Whitebeard’s power, but Gawain wounded him before leaving Marineford as the Navy intervened.
