A righteous beatdown
After landing, Lü Qianmo pushed off the ground with both feet, his massive body sliding backward, leaving two scorch marks in the dark red flames beneath his feet.
He retreated several dozen feet before stopping, panting heavily. His chest heaved, the burns on his shoulders and back were still smoking, the blood at the corner of his mouth was unwiped, and his fangs gleamed with a dark red, damp light.
His eyes were fixed on the group of people in front of him, a layer of barely suppressed irritation lurking beneath the venom in his gaze.
He turned his head and shouted.
"Lü Qiansha! Why are you so slow?"
The sound echoed through the jungle, hitting tree trunks and bouncing back, carrying a sense of exasperation. But the other Demon Beast was also preoccupied with its own problems.
Lü Qiansha was stuck in place in the distance, blood still seeping from the wound on his left shoulder. His right foreleg joint had been hit repeatedly, making his movements noticeably sluggish. Duan Jian's Duan Jian light and Du Ze's Thunder Fire Fist pressed down on him one after another, while Lu Piao darted around like a fly from the side and behind. Mingyu's dark beam of light would occasionally puncture his wounds.
Lü Qiansha didn't even have a chance to turn around and shout, let alone come to his aid.
Lü Qianmo waited for two breaths, but received no response. He cursed under his breath.
"Damn it, something's wrong, let's retreat!"
After saying that, he was just about to run away.
But when he turned around, he found himself surrounded by Yu Yan, Nie Li, and Shen Fei. Yu Yan floated in mid-air, his body wreathed in pale golden flames, his golden eyes coldly fixed on him.
Nie Li stood on the left, the Heavenly Meteor Divine Thunder Sword pointing diagonally at the ground, the lightning patterns on the sword still crackling and dancing. Shen Fei stood on the right, Ink Cloud held horizontally in front of him, the dark sword light as calm as a deep pool of water.
The three men were positioned neither too close nor too far, effectively blocking his escape routes in three directions.
Lü Qianmo looked at them, his facial muscles twitching slightly, then he chuckled and said, "You think I'm afraid of you?"
His smile was forced, revealing his fangs, and the blood at the corner of his mouth was still wet. But his eyes didn't smile; his deep purple pupils scanned rapidly between the three people, searching for an opening.
He laughed as he took out a Stone from his Space Ring. The Stone was only the size of a thumb, grayish-white in color, with fine cracks covering its surface, from which a very faint golden light shone. He crushed it with one hand.
The moment the Stone shattered, a shield appeared around him.
The shield was a translucent grayish-white color, with a very thin layer of runes flowing across its surface. The runes did not emit a bright light, but they were heavy and oppressive.
The moment the shield appeared, the surrounding air seemed to freeze for a moment, even forcing Yu Yan's golden flames to retreat half an inch. This shield was powerful enough to withstand a full-force attack from Demi-God level expert.
Without hesitation, Lü Qianmo immediately fled to the side.
He chose the lower left gap, which was the furthest from Nie Li and also some distance from the range of Yu Yan's flames.
The dark red flames beneath his feet exploded again, and his massive body charged forward, hugging the inside of the shield. The gray-white shield enveloped him, making him look like a Stone encased in a shell, as he crashed into a gap in the encirclement.
Yu Yan didn't give chase. She simply raised her hand, formed from golden flames, and pressed it in the direction Lü Qianmo had fled.
The pale golden flames surrounding her suddenly contracted, all the outward-emitting light and flames gathering inward, compressing, and then pouring into that single press.
She used all the Power of Law to create a wall of fire along Lü Qianmo's escape route.
The wall of fire rose from the ground, not very high, only a little over a person's height, but its length stretched across the entire retreat path in front of Lü Qianmo.
The flames were almost pure white, with pale golden patterns of Law within. These patterns flowed slowly within the wall of fire, as if some kind of rule had been written into the flames. The wall of fire appeared extremely quickly, giving Lü Qianmo almost no time to turn around.
Lü Qianmo's shield crashed into the wall of fire.
The grayish-white shield emitted a piercing hissing sound the moment it touched the wall of fire. The runes on the shield's surface flickered wildly, shattering layer by layer, and the grayish-white light film began to thin, become brittle, and become transparent from the point of contact.
The golden Law patterns within the wall of fire, like countless fine needles, burrowed into the cracks in the shield, burning away the runes inch by inch. The shield shattered after passing through this wall of fire.
Lü Qianmo's pupils constricted sharply. He thought to himself, "As expected of the Spirit God of yesteryear, even in this state, he still possesses such terrifying power."
A Divine Spark Spirit God whose divine essence was mostly shattered and whose Divine Body had only condensed into a tiny fragment, was able to burn through a shield that was strong enough to withstand a full-force attack from Demi-God by condensing a wall of fire with Power of Law.
If she were still in her prime, that wall of fire would probably have burned through his shield and his body.
But he was relieved that he was about to escape.
He had smashed through the wall of fire; although the shield was shattered, his massive body had already reached the other side of the wall.
The edge of the jungle was just ahead. If he charged forward a few dozen more meters and disappeared into the dense forest, he would have a chance to shake off these people. He was at the Legendary Peak; as long as he created distance, these people wouldn't be able to catch him.
However, Shen Fei and Nie Li appeared behind the wall of fire.
The moment Lü Qianmo crashed through the wall of fire, before the golden flames in front of him had even dissipated, two figures emerged from the smoke and flames behind the wall of fire.
Shen Fei was on the right, Nie Li was on the left, both pushing their speed to the limit. The dark patterns on Shen Fei's Ink Cloud Sword lit up, and a dark Law light membrane clung to the blade, making the sword's momentum as heavy as a mountain pressing down.
Lightning surged on Nie Li's Heavenly Meteor Divine Thunder Sword, the lightning at the tip of the sword compressed into a blinding white point, the sword's momentum as fast as a falling bolt of lightning.
The Heavenly Meteor Divine Thunder Sword and Ink Cloud slashed at the Demon Beast together.
Lü Qianmo's shield had shattered, and his protective Spiritual Power had been burned to pieces within the wall of fire. His old power had just been exhausted, and new power had not yet been generated.
His body was still caught in the momentum of his forward thrust, and he had no time to turn around or regroup his defenses. He could only watch helplessly as the two swords fell from the left and right.
Ink Cloud arrived first. The sword blade sliced open the flesh on his side, and dark Power of Law poured in through the wound, like a layer of heavy ink seeping into his Meridians, forcibly stagnating the flow of his Spiritual Power for a moment.
The Heavenly Meteor Divine Thunder Sword followed closely behind, and lightning struck his shoulder and neck from the other side. The violent lightning exploded in the wound, completely tearing apart the protective Spiritual Power of half of his body.
Before he could even react, he was killed.
The sword energies of the two swords converged within Lü Qianmo's body, unleashing dark Law and lightning simultaneously. Lü Qianmo's massive body froze in mid-air for a moment, his deep purple eyes filled with shock.
His Legendary Rank physique was actually killed by a mere attack from Black Gold Rank.
His mouth opened, and a mouthful of dark red blood gushed from between his fangs. A muffled gasp escaped his throat, and then his massive body tilted forward, crashing heavily to the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
His eyes were still open, an incredulous light lingering in his deep purple pupils. He would never know what kind of monsters he was facing.
