"Listen up, brat! Your commander is talking!
This pot must be washed until it's spotless, without a speck of dust!
If there's even one dirty spot left, heh heh, you'll be in for it!"
The Wolf Demon stood there, barking orders at the fellow before him. He held a long whip, swinging it constantly as though to flaunt his authority.
The Horse Demon he was berating stood trembling, his head lowered, not daring to meet the Wolf Demon's eyes.
His body shook slightly, clearly cowed by the Wolf Demon's imposing presence.
Only after a while did the Horse Demon venture cautiously:
"Commander, look, we don't have a pot that big here!
What should we do?"
The Horse Demon's voice was low and timid, as though he was terrified of angering the Wolf Demon.
At his words, the Wolf Demon frowned and snorted in displeasure:
"You don't? Then go look in the storeroom!
Do you expect your commander to find it for you personally?"
The Horse Demon hastily nodded and bowed:
"Yes, yes, yes! I'll go search the storeroom right away. I'll be sure to find you a big one!"
With that, the Horse Demon raced toward the storeroom as though his soles had been greased, afraid that a moment's delay would earn him punishment.
The Horse Demon secretly calculated that if he handled this beautifully, he might even get a few bites of human flesh later!
After all, they had lived here for generations and had never seen members of the Human Race!
They had only read accounts of the Human Race in a few incomplete ancient books.
Now, however, they had stumbled upon more than a dozen living humans at once, all giving off an enticing scent of blood. To them, this was naked temptation!
