Yugito left the Hokage building and headed straight for Training Ground Seven. Naruto had said he would be training there today. When she arrived, her eyes widened instantly-hundreds of identical blond boys were trying to cut through a waterfall with Wind Release chakra at the same time.
Oh my, just look at him, kitten. Don't you want to rush over and make him yours right here? the Two-Tails said in her mind.
Yes, he really does look very... wait, Two-Tails! Can you stop teasing me about Naruto-kun all the time? He's training right now. I'll go wait with Lord Jiraiya and that Anbu member until he's finished. Yugito snapped back inwardly, once again caught off guard by the Two-Tails' lewd teasing.
"Ah, Yugito, how did your meeting with Tsunade go?" Jiraiya asked, noticing her walk into the training ground.
"Very well. She agreed to the treaty and only added a few supplementary clauses," Yugito replied.
"Sounds like it went smoothly, then. Does that mean you'll be leaving soon?" the Toad Sage asked.
"Yes, but Lady Tsunade suggested that I serve as a liaison between the two villages, so I might be able to come back every few months." Yugito had barely finished speaking when a frustrated shout rang out nearby-Naruto had come close to cutting through the waterfall, only to fail in the end, and all his blond clones roared in frustration.
"That kid will definitely be happy. He's almost finished with this training, too. Another two hours at most. All that chakra control training really paid off. With this many Shadow Clones, he's managed to cram something that would take other people years to master into a single day. It's incredible." Jiraiya watched his student, his eyes full of admiration and pride.
An hour and a half later, Naruto finally succeeded in cutting through the waterfall. A spectacular sight unfolded before them: over a thousand identical blond ninja jumped and cheered in perfect unison, celebrating before slowly disappearing one by one in clouds of smoke.
"Nicely done, kid!" Jiraiya called with a grin.
"Mastering such complicated training in just six hours is truly impressive, Mr. Naruto," the bird-masked Anbu member praised him as well.
"That was amazing, Naruto-kun!" Yugito ran over with a smile and handed him a towel to dry himself off.
"Thanks, Yugi-chan. It looks simple, but doing it is exhausting. I got the hang of it pretty quickly, but now my whole body feels like it's falling apart." Finally coming down from the excitement of completing his Wind Release training, Naruto panted heavily as he spoke.
"Well, you just finished two years' worth of training. Of course you're exhausted. I honestly don't know how you kept going... come on, treat me to lunch, and I'll tell you how my meeting with Lady Tsunade went." Yugito grinned mischievously, knowing he was too tired to argue about who would pay.
An hour later, at Ichiraku Ramen
Naruto and Yugito sat together, discussing the temporary alliance proposal and how often they would be able to see each other in the future. Just then, an Anbu member suddenly appeared inside the shop.
"Mr. Naruto Uzumaki, Lord Hokage requests that you come to her office immediately. She said you may bring your little girlfriend along if you wish." After delivering the message in a businesslike tone, the Anbu member vanished instantly, leaving Naruto and Yugito blushing.
"Oh my, Naruto-kun, you have a girlfriend now?" Ayame teased with a smile as she wiped a bowl.
"Uh, well... we haven't really talked about that yet, have we, Yugi-chan? Um... would you like to be my girlfriend?" Naruto asked tentatively.
Yugito gave him a radiant smile. "Oh, I'll have to think carefully about that, Naruto. That's not an easy question to answer." A mischievous grin tugged at her lips.
"Oh? Really?" Seeing her mischievous grin, Naruto decided to play along. "Maybe you just aren't ready to be with someone as amazing as me." He lifted his chin smugly, making both Ayame and Yugito laugh.
"Is that so? Sounds like a challenge. Though putting up with you bragging like this every day would probably be the harder part." Smiling, she leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek. "I'd love to be your girlfriend, Naruto-kun," she said softly as she drew back.
"That's great, Yugi-chan! I'm so happy to have you as my girlfriend. We'd better hurry to the Hokage building, or the old lady will get mad. I've seen her beat up Pervy Sage when she's angry, and I don't want to get a beating like that." Naruto shuddered as he remembered the vicious beating Tsunade had given Jiraiya when she caught him acting like a creep.
