An unremarkable cargo ship slowly docked. The words "Midway City Refrigerated Transport" painted on its hull had chipped and faded, but a closer look would reveal several inconspicuous hidden compartments along both sides.
"Let me go over this one more time."
Leonard Snart stood in the cargo hold and tapped a finger against the wall.
"We came to Gotham to..."
He spoke each word distinctly. "First, find Harkness and ask why he hasn't returned to the team. Second, do some sightseeing while we're here. Third, if circumstances permit, evaluate security at the local banks. Fourth..."
"...Absolutely no committing crimes in Gotham," Lisa Snart finished, rolling her eyes. She leaned against the doorframe, playing with her golden hair. "You've said it ten times already. We can remember."
"Not that many," Captain Cold corrected, though there was no irritation in his voice. He turned to the third person in the hold. "Mick, did you remember that?"
Mick Rory was crouched in a corner, adjusting his flamethrower.
"Remember what?" he asked without looking up. "We need a permit to burn things?"
"No. Committing. Crimes," Leonard said through gritted teeth. "This is Gotham, not Midway City. The rules are different here."
"Rules are made to be broken," Mick muttered, but at the look in Leonard's eyes, he shrugged. "All right, all right. Sightseeing only. No work."
Once the ship was securely docked, the three of them walked down the gangway and set foot in Gotham.
The harbor district reeked of fish. Cranes stood motionless in the dusk like rusted steel behemoths, and workers sluggishly loaded and unloaded cargo. No one gave them a second glance.
