"Hello?" Harkness sounded busy. "Who's this?"
"George, it's me."
"Who the fuck are you this time... Leonard?" A clatter of things falling over came through the phone, then the background quickly went quiet, as though he had moved somewhere secluded.
"Lenny? Woo-hoo!"
Harkness sounded delighted over the phone. "Are you calling to ask how my surgery went? Sorry, I forgot to tell you. It went really well..."
"Ah... yeah, right. I... that's what I was calling about."
Listening to his excitement, Leonard suddenly blushed. He had almost completely forgotten about Harkness's surgery, and a pang of guilt washed over him.
"We... were worried about you, so we came all the way to Gotham to see you..."
"You came to Gotham? Oh..." Harkness suddenly stopped laughing. "Where are you? The harbor or the airport? Stay right there. Gotham's cabdrivers will con you out of your underwear."
"Ah..."
Leonard let out a quiet sigh. "We're... at..."
He looked up at the street signs at the mouth of the alley. "The intersection of Seventh Street and Canal Road. There's a Lucky Chinese Restaurant next to us. The word 'Restaurant' on the sign is broken."
"Got it. Stay put. I'll be there in half an hour."
The call ended. Leonard put away his phone and looked at Mick and Lisa. They were crouching by the roadside, and Mick was trying to pry open a fire hydrant with a piece of wire he had picked up. He wasn't trying to vandalize it; he was just bored and couldn't keep his hands still.
"He said he'd pick us up," Leonard said. "Half an hour."
"Half an hour?" Lisa looked around. "We have to stand here for half an hour? Are we going to get robbed a third time?"
"Do we have anything worth stealing?" Mick said
