A Way to Verify Soul Cores
Dugu Yan's question was also one Ye Lingling had always wanted to ask. Because their Martial Souls differed, they naturally needed to go to the academy's most suitable Mimicry Training Grounds to cultivate. If not for that, attending the academy or not actually made little difference to children of established families like them.
Of course, if the academy had no Mimicry Training Grounds, like Shrek, that would be another story.
As the Heaven Dou Empire's best advanced Soul Master Academy, the Heaven Dou Royal Academy had the Heaven Dou Imperial Family behind it, and its resources were absolutely beyond comparison with those of other advanced Soul Master Academies. The effects of its various Mimicry Training Grounds were outstanding throughout the empire and even the entire continent, yet Lu Yang had never visited any of them.
On that subject, Lu Yang was actually somewhat helpless too. For some reason, every Mimicry Training Ground at Heaven Dou Academy had been built indoors or underground, which conflicted with the characteristics of his own Martial Soul.
His Winged Dragon of Ra Martial Soul increased the rate at which his Soul Power grew under sunlight, and the boost far surpassed anything the Mimicry Training Grounds could offer. But Heaven Dou Academy's fire-attribute Mimicry Training Ground was underground, where sunlight could not reach it at all.
As for the light-attribute Mimicry Training Ground, Heaven Dou Academy had spent a fortune acquiring numerous light-attribute gems to build it, but their light was not natural sunlight either and likewise provided him with no boost. Thus, Lu Yang could only forgo the enhancement of the Mimicry Training Grounds and cultivate somewhere with plentiful sunlight, like the sports field.
"My Martial Soul is rather special, as you both know. It also has a very high affinity with sunlight. Under the sun, my Soul Power grows faster, and the boost is even a little greater than what the Mimicry Training Grounds provide. That's why I don't cultivate there."
Lu Yang did not hide anything, directly explaining his Martial Soul's situation. Hearing this, Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling both froze for a moment.
"So that's why! Doesn't that mean you've practically been cultivating in a Mimicry Training Ground ever since you awakened your Martial Soul? No wonder your Soul Power grows so quickly!" Dugu Yan exclaimed in surprise.
"I really wish my Martial Soul had a trait like that too!"
"Oh, come on, Sister Yanzi. Your Martial Soul is a snake, not a plant. Sunlight won't give you much of a boost." Lu Yang teased with a smile.
"Your Martial Soul is a bird! Why should yours get to do that?" Dugu Yan protested.
"Could it be because Yang's Martial Soul was born from a fireball?" Ye Lingling interjected from beside them.
"That's very possible!" Dugu Yan nodded in all seriousness.
The sight of the three chatting nearby filled the other members of Heaven Dou Team One with envy, while Qin Ming wore a look of displeasure. But Lu Yang and the others had already made it clear that they did not want to undergo training, even expressing that they did not mind not joining the team, so there was nothing he could do.
After all, he had merely been appointed the leader of Heaven Dou Team One, not the teacher in charge of their Heaven Dou Class One, and had no authority to manage them directly. But Qin Ming secretly resolved that once he had demonstrated his talents and gained more power, he would give Lu Yang and those others who disobeyed his orders a thorough dressing-down and teach them a lesson they would remember!
Fortunately, Lu Yang and the others did not keep chatting on the sidelines. Before long, Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling left. Lu Yang remained alone on the sports field, quietly cultivating by himself.
Only at noon did Yu Tianheng and the others stop running at Qin Ming's command. Although Qin Ming had not expressly forbidden them from using Soul Power, running for an entire morning had still left quite a few of them gasping for breath and nearly unable to keep going. These included not only support-type Soul Masters with relatively weak constitutions, but also some Battle Soul Masters.
That alone showed that among these noble children at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy, some had piled up their Soul Power Levels through all sorts of means, but their actual combat strength was another matter.
Heaven Dou Academy scheduled no classes in the afternoon, intending to leave the students time to cultivate. After eating lunch at the academy, Lu Yang, Ye Lingling, and Dugu Yan left and went straight back to the Ye Family's Medical Clinic.
Although he had already obtained the Immortal Herb he had longed for, Lu Yang had not stopped studying pharmacology. He continued learning it from Ye Lingling, while Dugu Yan served as their "tool" for testing medicines.
Naturally, Dugu Yan had refused at first, but after Lu Yang and Ye Lingling persuaded her several times, she agreed to give it a try. From then on, she no longer particularly resisted testing medicines for them.
That was because what Lu Yang and Ye Lingling were tinkering with were not really formulas for making medicines; almost all of them were Medicinal Baths for tempering the body. Neither was especially daring in their use of medicinal ingredients, and with Ye Qingling overseeing things, there would naturally be no adverse effects. Instead, Dugu Yan gained quite a few benefits from testing them, so she naturally stopped resisting.
Noticing Lu Yang and Ye Lingling's keen interest in the subject, Ye Qingling gave them an illustrated catalog of Immortal Herbs to study. It was precisely because of this that Lu Yang deepened his knowledge of Immortal Herbs. He learned that the medicinal properties of the Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew did not conflict with those of the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum he had previously consumed, so he did not need to fully refine the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum's medicinal properties within his body before taking the Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew.
Upon learning this, Lu Yang reflected that he could not act entirely according to the memories in his head in the future. After all, he had not read Douluo Continent every day before transmigrating, so how could his memories be that clear? Whatever the matter, he still needed to verify things first.
However, even knowing this now, he had no pretext to ask Dugu Bo for the Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew. The earlier Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum had been his reward for helping Dugu Bo find a way to cure his Martial Soul's poison, and he had accepted it with a clear conscience. For the Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew, he would need another bargaining chip.
Lu Yang already had an idea for that bargaining chip: the Soul Core method that had only appeared during the Douluo II era. In the present age, aside from Qian Daoliu and the Worship Hall's worshippers, who had experience with condensing Soul Power, only the Poison Pill Dugu Bo had condensed by chance was perhaps the closest thing to an embryonic Soul Core.
But to present this theory in full, he still needed evidence sufficient to support it. With Lu Yang's current cultivation, he certainly could not condense a Soul Core himself. Yet speculation alone clearly would not convince Dugu Bo.
Only after pondering for a long time did Lu Yang think of one possibility: Soul Beasts. Or rather, Humanoid Soul Beasts.
As everyone knew, when Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts took human form, they sealed their own origin power within their bodies to condense the six Soul Rings they needed before reaching maturity. This was precisely why Humanoid Soul Beasts possessed talent equivalent to human Innate Full Soul Power.
But what concerned Lu Yang more was whether the way Humanoid Soul Beasts sealed their origin power resembled the Soul Cores of human Soul Masters.
