Background / History

Abuse of Authority

Guang Biao’s rank and position helped shield his younger brother Guang Long’s protection racket. The snack-street residents were ordinary people who feared opposing either brother. Guang Biao also personally extorted the neighborhood, later offering to return every cent when begging for his life 30 33.

Revenge for Guang Long

After Li Zha killed Guang Long, Guang Biao arrived in a Black-Grade Mecha, whose landing damaged the snack street. Seeing his brother’s charred corpse, he demanded the killer and threatened Li Zha, his family, and the other children present 30 31.

A Soul King subordinate urged him to investigate the children’s backgrounds before attacking. Guang Biao initially punched the subordinate aside, but hesitated after considering how easily Li Zha had killed Guang Long. Li Zha mocked his willingness to bully ordinary people while fearing powerful backers, then attacked him first 31.

Battle with Li Zha and Na’er

Guang Biao’s first exchange revealed that the Fire-Tipped Spear could counter his Ironclad Dragon armor. Nevertheless, his superior cultivation allowed him to overwhelm Na’er, kick Tang Wulin into a wall, and withstand Xie Xie’s dagger attack without his armor being pierced 32.

Believing the children had slipped out without their guardians, Guang Biao decided to kill them and abandon his identity afterward. Gu Yue briefly restrained him with spatial power, but he hurled an iron spear through the restraint toward Li Zha and Na’er. The pair answered with their newly awakened Martial Soul Fusion Skill, Dragon’s Cry in the Burning Silence: Dragon King’s Lament 32.

Their Fire-Armored Silver Dragon shattered his spear, struck him, and carried him into the sky before exploding. The attack badly injured his abdomen and left Samadhi True Fire burning in his wounds. Guang Biao extinguished the flames at a heavy Soul Power cost, then recognized the danger posed by the newly appeared Leng Yaozhu and knelt to beg for mercy 33.

Punishment and Aftermath

Leng Yaozhu left his fate to Li Zha. Rather than execute him, Li Zha removed all ten fingernails, severed both heel tendons, and ordered him to destroy his Martial Soul and sweep the streets. Guang Biao complied by destroying his Soul Rings 33 34.

The City Defense Army had been delayed because Guang Biao used his authority to seal off the area. After Leng Yaozhu ordered the soldiers punished and stripped of their uniforms, they beat Guang Biao and threatened further retaliation. His mecha burst into flames, while the residents he had victimized watched him with hostility 34.

Personality

Guang Biao’s grief over his only brother quickly becomes indiscriminate violence: he threatens all five children regardless of their involvement. His anger also extends to his own subordinate when the man attempts to restrain him 31.

His aggression is tempered by fear of stronger authorities. He hesitates when he suspects Li Zha belongs to a major power, resumes his murderous intentions when he believes the children are unprotected, and submits once Leng Yaozhu appears. To survive, he accepts mutilation and the destruction of his cultivation 31 32 33.

Abilities & Skills

Ironclad Dragon

His beast Martial Soul manifests a dragon phantom, scales, and protective iron armor 31 32.

  • Defense: Withstands Xie Xie’s full-power dagger strike, producing only sparks 32.
  • Close combat: His speed and strength allow him to send Li Zha flying and severely injure Tang Wulin with a kick 32.
  • Weakness: Li Zha’s Fire-Tipped Spear directly counters the Martial Soul and cracks its abdominal armor 32.

Soul Skill Weapons

Guang Biao produces several weapons through his Martial Soul and Soul Skills 31 32.

  • Spear: Condenses an earthen-yellow spear, later unleashing an iron-spiked spear as a ranged killing attack 31 32.
  • Spiked whip: Activates a purple Soul Ring to create a long whip covered in iron spikes 32.
  • Limit: His iron spear is shattered by Li Zha and Na’er’s fusion attack 33.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Black-Grade Mecha — Used to reach the snack street. Guang Biao fights the children without deploying it in combat; it burns after Leng Yaozhu’s departure 30 33 34.

Relationships

  • Guang Long — His younger and only brother. Guang Biao’s status supported Guang Long’s extortion, and his death prompted Guang Biao’s revenge attempt 30 31.
  • Li Zha — His brother’s killer and principal opponent; ultimately spares him under a sentence of permanent incapacitation and community service 31 33.
  • Na’er — Fights alongside Li Zha and helps unleash the fusion skill that defeats him 32 33.
  • Leng Yaozhu — The children’s teacher. Guang Biao appeals to her for mercy, but she lets Li Zha decide his fate 33.
  • City Defense Army personnel — Turn against him after his abuse of authority costs them their positions 34.
