"Little Kokomi, stay here and behave. I'll come pick you up in a week. Remember, no running off!" Bibi Dong gave her a sidelong glance.
The youthful-looking Bibi Dong stood beneath the veranda. Her finely tailored purple-black ecclesiastical gown, trimmed in gold, accentuated her slender figure. Her skin was pale as cold jade, and her pinkish-purple eyes held a measure of innate nobility.
Her red lips parted as she added meaningfully, "Otherwise, it wouldn't be good if you ended up wanted by the Spirit Hall."
Kokomi naturally nodded in perfect obedience, though inwardly she was already pondering how to escape.
What was so great about going to the Spirit Hall? My Genshin Impact Martial Soul requires me to keep fulfilling the original characters' wishes. How could I possibly hole up in the tiny Spirit Hall as a maid?
You being my maid would be more like it!
Ji Feng clamored brazenly in his heart, while outwardly looking ever softer and more docile.
Such sensible, obedient behavior made Bibi Dong's heart bloom with delight. Affection and fondness rose uncontrollably between her brows, and she reached out to stroke Kokomi's cheek. Kokomi cooperated completely, nuzzling her cool, delicate hand like an affectionate little kitten.
She was simply too adorable.
Bibi Dong felt as though her heart were melting!
Just then, Kokomi blinked her large, watery eyes and noticed something strange-the yellow exclamation mark that had hovered above Bibi Dong's head when she arrived had vanished at some point!
After a moment's thought, Kokomi hurriedly glanced at her Genshin Impact Martial Soul.
A full sixty Primogems had appeared on the interface!
Receiving the Primogem reward meant Bibi Dong's wish had been fulfilled?
Kokomi was utterly puzzled. When had she helped fulfill Bibi Dong's wish? For that matter, she did not even know what the wish was.
Could her wish have been to find Ji Feng, the guy writing smut? So, with a little rounding, this counted as completing it?
Kokomi did not dwell on it. It was good news, anyway!
Now her smile truly became brighter and more captivating from the heart. She looked at Bibi Dong, who was gently stroking her cheek beside her, as though looking at a walking Primogem dispenser.
After the two shared a little more affection, Bibi Dong prepared to leave. As the Spirit Hall's Holy Maiden, she ought not spend the night out in the wilderness. It was neither a major matter nor a trivial one, but she had no desire to invite trouble and disappoint her teacher.
Before leaving, Bibi Dong turned back and surveyed Kokomi's home, her brows creasing slightly.
Earlier, with the entire house in such disarray, she had instinctively assumed it was simply large. Only now did she notice how spacious and bright it was, with excellent natural light, an open, airy layout, and furnishings of considerable quality. Naturally, it could not compare to her own residence, but for a pair of siblings with no one else to rely on, it was clearly far too luxurious.
Where was even a trace of misery or destitution? It would not have been an exaggeration to say a nouveau riche lived here.
Ji Feng's house was a rather luxurious detached villa with a courtyard. The courtyard even contained some expensive equipment for Soul Masters' cultivation. Ji Feng rented it for around one Gold Soul Coin a month.
It was not downtown and was, in fact, rather out of the way. Conversely, that put it very close to the wilderness, and most Soul Masters liked to gather nearby. The Market where Ah Yin had previously sold medicinal herbs was not far from Ji Feng's home.
Having arrived late at night, Bibi Dong had naturally failed to notice. The messy house and little Kokomi's genuine tears had further cemented her first impression, making her assume the siblings lived in particular misery and poverty.
She furrowed her delicate brows, but did not investigate further.
On the Douluo Continent, wealth meant nothing if one was not a Soul Master. A useless person without soul power for a day would remain useless for life. That did not stand in the way of charity from a distinguished Holy Maiden like her.
Even if Kokomi was merely pretending to be poor, a little girl without soul power would soon become genuinely poor anyway.
Without further hesitation, she put on her cloak and became the mysterious stranger once more. With a flicker, she disappeared into the thick night.
The moment Bibi Dong left, Ji Feng eagerly released Kokomi and switched back to his original appearance.
"Hm? Why did I suddenly..." Kokomi looked around strangely, feeling as though there were a gap in her memory. She had absolutely no idea what Ji Feng had done with her body. She turned toward him, about to speak, only to suddenly notice that her long hair was wet.
She turned toward the bathroom, which was covered in water stains and had clearly been used, then looked back at Ji Feng. He was completely dry-after all, he had already bathed earlier.
Those few clues were enough for little Kokomi to piece together the truth.
She abruptly raised a hand and pointed at Ji Feng, her fingertip trembling slightly. The lovely curves of her chest rose and fell, and her watery eyes went round as she exclaimed in embarrassed anger, "Y-you! You scoundrel! Did you use my body to give me a bath?!"
"Not I! Kokomi! You just washed yourself! You can't slander me!" Ji Feng looked the very picture of righteous integrity.
Kokomi stamped her foot in anger, puffing out her cheeks. "I told you! Don't get any ideas about me! You agreed so readily back then, but now you've seen every inch of me! Y-you..."
"You have no shame!"
After struggling for ages, those were the only words Kokomi could force out.
Seeing that Kokomi remembered absolutely nothing of what he had just done with her body, Ji Feng could not help inwardly praising Genshin Impact again.
Everyone, say it with me: Genshin Impact is fucking awesome!
"Let's skip over that little detail! Strategist, I just fulfilled another wish! Now I can pull on the Wish Banner again!" Ji Feng boasted delightedly.
Kokomi glared at him. "And what do you expect me to do with that information? Perform a blessing ritual and pray you pull the Raiden Shogun soon?"
Ji Feng paused. If Kokomi had not mentioned it, he really would not have thought of that.
As Watatsumi Island's priestess, blessings and rituals were Kokomi's bread and butter! Why not have her give him a little mystical boost?
"Exactly! Come give me a blessing!"
"If blessings worked, why would I bother being a strategist? Wouldn't I just pray for the sea to drown Inazuma's army? Can you please stop clinging to feudal superstitions?" Kokomi folded her arms, thoroughly exasperated.
Ji Feng was even more speechless. A feudal priestess with fantastical powers was actually lecturing him against feudal superstition!
"I don't care. Give me a blessing!"
"Fine, fine! What a troublesome lord!"
Unable to win against him, Kokomi finally, reluctantly, agreed to perform a Watatsumi Island blessing dance.
"Who are you planning to pull? There are many kinds of blessing dances. I need to choose the appropriate steps based on whom you're wishing for." Having agreed, Kokomi took the matter especially seriously as Watatsumi Island's priestess.
Besides, perhaps this method really could influence the odds of his pulls?
"A god! Any god will do!" Ji Feng answered decisively.
Venti, Zhongli, Ei... almost every god possessed overwhelming strength. Moreover, most Genshin Impact characters struggled to wield their power because Ji Feng himself had no soul power. But if he obtained a god-level character, then, judging by his deductions while inside Kokomi's body, even without any power of his own, external elements alone might be enough to rival Douluo's gods.
"Then may your wish come true."
Kokomi shrugged and strode on her snow-white legs to an open space beneath the night sky.
The priestess named Sangonomiya Kokomi stood quietly. For an instant, even the air seemed to still. Everything around them was utterly silent, as though only one's own breathing could be heard.
Ji Feng held his breath almost instinctively, and at that same moment, the priestess's gaze met his.
"Make sure you watch me closely."
Kokomi offered only a faint smile, but it vanished in an instant, her expression abruptly settling into stillness.
The playful lightness of moments before faded, giving way to the solemnity and tranquility unique to a priestess.
The deep curtain of night spread overhead, and bright moonlight poured down like quicksilver, spilling over the girl's sleeves and the tips of her hair.
Kokomi danced gracefully beneath the moon. Watatsumi Island's blessing dance should only have been offered to the gods, yet now she danced for just one person.
Her long blue-and-pink hair floated in the breeze, and the priestess's skirt embroidered with Watatsumi patterns traced soft arcs of light. Her movements were light and graceful. Gentle watery radiance condensed into countless crystalline droplets, which refracted the moonlight into a hazy white glow, making her figure all the more ethereal.
Her waist bent and turned lightly, her arms sweeping through smooth, flowing arcs. Her skirt and gauzy robes traced ripple after ripple, at times surging like waves, at times quiet and peaceful as a secluded spring. As Kokomi lifted her hands and lowered her eyes, a delicate, faint smile rested on her face. She seemed to be gazing at Ji Feng, or perhaps at the night, yet ultimately, it seemed more as though she were gazing at herself.
Ji Feng simply watched, silent for a long time.
At last, the dance ended. Kokomi slowly stilled her movements, then approached the dazed Ji Feng with a soft laugh. "Well? That was the Divine Priestess's solo dance, just for you."
The girl's sweet voice dispelled a little of the chill and sorrow her dance had left behind.
"Don't dance it again. It wasn't beautiful."
Ji Feng turned his head, avoiding Kokomi's gaze.
"Huh? Why are you crying?" Kokomi was merely puzzled.
"I don't like such sad dances."
"..." Kokomi paused, then sighed. "How could a dance passed down by the defeated, confined to guarding a single island, be anything but sorrowful?"
"If you don't like it, I simply won't dance it."
Though she said that, a hint of amusement had unmistakably entered her eyes.
