Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Zero innate soul power; Genshin Impact awakened 1 Initially limited to playing an unchanging version of Genshin Impact inside his head, with Aether as his only permanent playable character.
First summon: Sangonomiya Kokomi 2 Earns 60 friendship Primogems by securing Ah Yin a medicinal shop, then spends them on one wish. Kokomi manifests physically.
Memory resonance unlocked 3 Exchanges memories with Kokomi through their shared soul connection. This creates familiarity but does not guarantee obedience.
Recall and character-body transformation 5 6 Recalls Kokomi and takes her form. Further testing reveals multiple-body control and three states for summoned souls: dormancy, assistance, and full summoning.
Second summon: Nahida 10 Immediately inhabits Nahida’s body, gaining access to her memories and abilities rather than letting her act independently.
Innate full soul power 11 Uses Ah Yin’s pill and Nahida’s natural energy to reawaken his original body. The process opens a second martial soul slot, since Genshin Impact cannot acquire Soul Rings.
Divine-grade second martial soul 14 17 Transfers part of Nahida’s Dream Authority into his original body, creating the Four-Leaf Illusion God Eye. It grants dream-linked imitation or summoning, eye-contact illusions, and mind-reading. His level is subsequently confirmed as 10 19 20.

Background / History

Ji Feng arrives on the Douluo Continent with zero innate soul power. For years, his Genshin Impact martial soul appears useful only as entertainment: its game never updates, provides no Primogems, and removes events that would award characters 1.

Unable to rely on cultivation, he makes a fortune writing erotic stories featuring Spirit Hall and major sects. Their popularity also makes his identity dangerous to reveal. He lives in a remote town and hires Speed Clan runners to collect his royalties rather than appearing in person 1. His income supports a rented detached villa with a courtyard and cultivation equipment, costing about one Gold Soul Coin per month 9.

Account of a Previous Future

During the battle with La Signora, Ji Feng tells Bibi Dong that he came from the future specifically to save her. In his account, she once rescued him from Fallen Soul Masters, inspiring lifelong devotion. After her death, he spent decades searching for an Otherworldly God and received three promises: knowledge of how to save Bibi Dong, a return to the past, and the awakening of his martial soul 35.

This is an account he gives Bibi Dong, rather than an independently established history in the supplied events. Earlier narration identifies him as a reader of the original Douluo novel and explicitly describes his claim of prophetic eyes as a lie 1 30.

Appearance

  • Original appearance: Handsome but poorly groomed, with scruffy stubble, drooping eyelids, and lifeless “dead-fish” eyes. Although in his twenties, he looks roughly thirty 1.
  • After shaving: Ah Yin remarks that he looks more than ten years younger 25.
  • After intimacy with Ah Yin: His skin becomes exceptionally fair and smooth, his features grow more refined and androgynous, and his brows and eyes begin to resemble hers 26.
  • Martial soul manifestation: Emerald light fills his eyes, forming four-leaf, cross-petaled patterns in his pupils 17.
  • Borrowed forms: Can take Kokomi’s or Nahida’s complete appearance, including their bodies, voices, and clothing 5 6 20.

Personality

Ji Feng is theatrical, self-deprecating, and opportunistic. He presents his success as heroic perseverance, only for Kokomi to point out that he earned his fortune by writing pornography. When confronted by someone stronger, he quickly abandons threatening ideas and rebrands himself as helpful or peace-loving 1 4.

His central ambition is to build a harem. He favors an all-female summon roster, dismisses support characters when he wants immediate combat power, and repeatedly mistakes confident rhetoric for effective courtship. Kokomi and Nahida frequently correct his assumptions or exploit his susceptibility to affection 10 23 30.

His attitude toward consent is inconsistent. He initially treats Nahida as a body and set of abilities under his control, and later pressures Ah Yin to accept other lovers as proof of her love. Nevertheless, he rejects using dream powers to manufacture affection and refuses Kokomi’s proposal to obtain Ah Yin’s sacrificial Soul Ring 16 22 24 27.

He also shows resolve beyond his comic boasting. He endures the painful Dream Authority transfer to preserve his original body, risks serious injury to catch Bibi Dong, and uses an illusion to secure her escape despite her refusal to abandon him 14 34 37.

Abilities & Skills

Genshin Impact Martial Soul

An unusual martial soul that contains a playable game, a character roster, and a summoning interface 1 6.

  • Quest detection: Ji Feng sees yellow exclamation marks above people with wishes he can fulfill. Completing Ah Yin’s shop quest awards 60 friendship Primogems 1 2.
  • Wishes: One summon costs 60 Primogems. His documented summons are Kokomi and Nahida 2 10.
  • Independent summons: Fully summoned characters retain their wills; summoning alone does not establish loyalty 2 6.
  • Recall: A visible summon can be recalled in less than a second, despite resistance 5 6.
  • Growth limitation: Genshin Impact cannot acquire Soul Rings and is described as already complete rather than conventionally cultivable 11.
  • Uncertain nature: Nahida finds its structure fundamentally different from ordinary martial souls and suspects that Douluo’s laws merely force a much greater power to take martial-soul form 20.

Character Bodies and Soul States

Ji Feng can inhabit roster characters, use them as additional bodies, or release them as independent people 6.

State / Function Effect Limitation
Dormancy The character’s soul sleeps while Ji Feng uses the body 6. Kokomi has no memory of what he does during her possession 9 29.
Assistance The character communicates with Ji Feng without controlling the body 6. Only roster characters can assist; the lineup holds four 6.
Full summoning The character manifests with independent agency 6. Ji Feng cannot directly control the character in this state, though visible summons remain recallable 6.
Multiple bodies One consciousness can operate up to four bodies, including his original body 6. Two simultaneous sensory viewpoints initially overwhelm his coordination 6.
  • Borrowed bodies carry physical habits and skills: Kokomi’s movements feel natural, and Ji Feng can shape water into a fish 6.
  • Access to a character’s abilities does not reproduce their judgment perfectly. He recognizes that the real Kokomi is smarter than his transformed version and that his Nahida form is more reckless than Nahida herself 16.
  • His weak starting condition greatly restricts summoned elemental power. Nahida’s divine authority can bypass those restrictions, but at increased mental cost and with reduced access to other demanding techniques 7 12.

Memory Resonance

Ji Feng can draw closer the soul connection between himself and a summoned incarnation, exchanging memories 3.

  • Kokomi experiences his memories strongly enough to fear changes to her identity; he experiences hers largely as a spectator 3.
  • Shared memories increase familiarity without removing reason, agency, or the possibility of refusal 3 4.
  • Kokomi recommends avoiding resonance with future summons and instead establishing a plausible shared background 4.

Four-Leaf Illusion God Eye

A divine-grade mental martial soul created from Nahida’s Dream Authority. Ji Feng jokingly calls it the “Sharingan,” but Nahida supplies its proper name 17.

  • Illusions: Alters perception through eye contact. Ji Feng defeats Lu Changgeng and his Soul Emperor bodyguard, then repeatedly deceives Bibi Dong 19 31.
  • Mind-reading: One of its initial abilities before he obtains any Soul Rings 17.
  • Dream-linked imitation and summoning: Can imitate or summon people connected to the dream network 17.
  • Mental scanning: Nahida states that he should be able to perform scans himself rather than relying on her warnings 29.
  • High-level application: His illusion affects La Signora at Super Douluo strength and conceals Bibi Dong’s escape until she is more than a hundred li away 37.
  • No automatic Soul Rings: Nahida cannot immediately create his requested ten-thousand-year ring or “Susanoo” skill; she advises ordinary Soul Ring hunting 17.

Dream Network

The Pure Good Heart Sutra, developed through Nahida, lets practitioners strengthen their minds and form spiritual imprints connecting them to her dream space 14.

  • The imprints provide a route for Ji Feng to borrow martial souls and for practitioners to contribute soul power and mental power 14.
  • Collected martial souls include the Seven Kill Sword, Clear Sky Hammer, Bone Dragon, Six-Winged Angel, Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon, and Nine Heart Begonia 18.
  • Nahida also provides private team communication for Ji Feng and Kokomi 18.
  • Directly forcing people into dreams is resource-intensive; stronger minds sharply reduce the number of targets he can draw in 12.

Writing, Appraisal, and Deception

  • Writing: His commercially successful pipe-fixing stories finance his life despite his original lack of soul power 1.
  • Herb appraisal: Correctly values Ah Yin’s stock at roughly twelve Gold Soul Coins, including its enhancement by her Blue Silver Emperor nourishment 1.
  • Emotional performance: Uses Kokomi’s tears to soften Bibi Dong during their first encounter 7.
  • Improvised cover stories: Conceals his summoning system by presenting Nahida as a detached, divinely empowered martial soul 20.
  • Convincing lies: His fabricated prophetic explanation produces no detectable change in heartbeat or pulse, leaving Bibi Dong uncertain whether he is lying 30.

Equipment / Items

  • Blue Silver Grass storage accessory — Made by Nahida before the forest expedition; she chooses to give him her largest item 23.
  • Grass-woven clothing — Wears garments woven by Ah Yin after their intimate encounter 26.
  • Ah Yin’s pill — Used with Nahida’s natural energy to grant his original body innate full soul power 11.

Relationships

  • Sangonomiya Kokomi — First summon and principal strategist. She agrees to help only on the condition that his romantic partners are happy and never coerced, while refusing to join his harem herself. Their relationship combines teasing, practical guidance, and disputes over his use of her body 2 5 9.
  • Nahida — Second summon, research partner, and source of his second martial soul. She challenges his treatment of her as a tool and negotiates greater autonomy. Her technical ingenuity and rivalry with Kokomi repeatedly unsettle his confidence in controlling the system 10 14 16 21 22.
  • Ah Yin — First quest giver and later lover, referred to by Bibi Dong as his wife. She protects and heals him, while his natural energy strengthens her life essence. She reluctantly accepts his pursuit of other women but asks him not to abandon her 1 26 27 31.
  • Bibi Dong — Initially confronts him over his erotic writing and unwanted advances. His rescue, account of her future, and declaration of devotion bring them closer; she becomes distraught when his illusion forces her to escape without him 29 31 34 35 37.
  • La Signora — Hostile Genshin figure whose arrival surprises him. Ji Feng suspects that her presence may be connected to him and joins the effort to protect Bibi Dong from her 32 33.
  • Lu Changgeng — Lu Family Soul King whom Ji Feng defeats for threatening Ah Yin and demanding her shop. Ji Feng also incapacitates his bodyguard and threatens retaliation if the family pursues the matter 18 19.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Unlocking the Summoning System

  • Recognizes Ah Yin beneath a quest marker and helps her obtain a shop, turning an apparently useless martial soul into a source of physical summons 1 2.
  • Learns through Kokomi that summoned characters are people rather than automatically obedient tools 2 3.
  • Tests recall and transformation with Kokomi’s guidance, discovering the roster’s body-control functions 5 6.

Creating a Cultivable Martial Soul

  • Uses Nahida’s body to overcome zero innate soul power, but discovers that Genshin Impact cannot support Soul Rings 10 11.
  • Follows Kokomi’s proposal to refine Dream Authority into a mental martial soul connected to other cultivators 11 14.
  • Demonstrates the resulting power against a Soul King and Soul Emperor despite remaining a level 10 Soul Scholar 19 20.

System Research and Ah Yin’s Courtship

  • Discovers that Nahida can modify the game interface. Raising the displayed Primogem count to 999,999 does not create the actual resources needed for wishes; targeted summoning remains a research proposal 21 22.
  • Prepares to hunt his first Soul Ring in the Azure Mist Ancient Forest and rejects sacrificing Ah Yin for a hundred-thousand-year ring 22.
  • Pursues Ah Yin after another quest marker appears, hears her ambitions, and becomes her lover. Her wish to make him hers is fulfilled, producing another 60 Primogems 23 24 25 26.

Bibi Dong and La Signora

  • Exposes his transformed identity to Bibi Dong after deceiving her as Kokomi and provoking her with supposed predictions 29 30 31.
  • Takes Kokomi’s form during La Signora’s attack, providing Hydro protection with Ah Yin’s support 33.
  • Catches and heals the falling Bibi Dong despite nearly breaking both arms 34.
  • Tells Bibi Dong that he returned from the future for her, then uses an elaborate illusion to make her escape while believing she is carrying him 35 37.
