When Son Goku raised both hands high, Cooler's first reaction was to think he was surrendering.
Raising both hands was a widely recognized gesture of surrender throughout the universe.
But Cooler quickly came to his senses.
That fellow who looked so much like Bardock, one of Planet Vegeta's three great Super Saiyans, was a Saiyan!
Saiyans were stubborn to the bitter end. How could one surrender so easily?
It was him!
The energy sphere overhead was some technique that Saiyan had unleashed!
"Bastard, die!"
Even Cooler dared not underestimate the energy within that sphere. He immediately pressed two fingers together and fired a beam at Son Goku.
"Kakarot!"
Vegeta tried to intercept it, but Cooler fired another beam at him as well. It was so fast that Vegeta barely had time to react. He managed to block it, only to be sent flying, leaving him helpless to watch the other beam race toward Son Goku.
Just as Son Goku was about to be hit, someone suddenly stepped in front of him.
Thud!
The Death Beam pierced his body, but lost some of its power in the process. Piccolo charged in from the side, the aura of the Red Kaioken blazing around him. With a forceful flick, he deflected the beam into the ground.
"Goku!"
"Goku!"
"Dad!"
"Kakarot!"
Amid everyone's shouts, Son Goku cried out, "Here it comes!"
The massive energy sphere hidden in the sky instantly descended, hovering a few meters above Son Goku's head.
Son Goku thrust both hands downward, sending the Spirit Bomb he had formed from Earth's life energy hurtling toward Cooler.
For the first time, the tremendous energy filling the Spirit Bomb made Cooler feel threatened. His eyes widened, and he raised his right hand, pointing a finger skyward.
"Supernova!"
