Ding! Host, the target is Broly from a parallel timeline, not your current timeline.
Lin Chen was stunned for a long moment by the system's answer.
Broly from a parallel timeline?
What the hell... Good thing I asked. Otherwise, how was I supposed to complete this option?
Lin Chen knew that the world of Dragon Ball was, in fact, incredibly vast.
This world had a multiverse, with twelve universes in total.
The universe Lin Chen lived in was one of those twelve.
The relationship between different universes was much like that between different countries, with enormous differences between them.
Take the Saiyans, for example. In Lin Chen's universe, they had originally been a warlike, brutal race, but in another universe, they might be peace-loving people. In a third universe, Saiyans might not exist at all.
Beyond this multiverse, Lin Chen also knew that parallel timelines existed in this world.
A parallel timeline was a world born within a universe for some reason, similar to the original yet different.
Lin Chen himself was an example. He knew perfectly well that the world he currently inhabited had to be a parallel timeline of some universe.
In this timeline, his arrival had spared the Saiyans' home, Planet Vegeta, from destruction at Frieza's hands.
Aside from this world, there should also have been one where Lin Chen had never transmigrated. Without his arrival, Planet Vegeta would have been destroyed by Frieza, just as it had been in the original story.
Now, the system's mission was to send him to a parallel timeline to deal with another Broly.
The question was, how could Lin Chen reach the parallel timeline the system specified?
"System, how am I supposed to complete option three? Will you send me to that parallel timeline?"
Ding! Host, you must find a way to complete the mission yourself. However, the system can offer a hint: a means of reaching the target timeline exists within this universe.
"System, I choose option three, then!"
After giving it some thought, Lin Chen still couldn't suppress his curiosity and chose the option that seemed the hardest to accomplish.
After all, the Frost Demon serum offered by options one and two wouldn't be much help to Lin Chen, whose subordinates were still predominantly Saiyans.
The Legendary Super Saiyan 2 transformation trial card, on the other hand-he wanted to see exactly what that was all about!
Ding! Your choice has been activated. Please complete the mission as soon as possible! Due to the high difficulty of this mission, the time limit has been extended to three years!
With his new goal confirmed, Lin Chen issued new orders to King Vegeta and the others. Starting that day, the Saiyans would attack the Frieza Force's former territories and liberate the planets that had once been under Frieza's rule.
Although this wouldn't earn any system rewards, attacking the Frieza Force's territories would allow the Saiyans to gain some combat experience.
Hanasia's ordeal had proved that raw power wasn't always enough. Five years of peace had made many Saiyans forget the brutality of battle.
While the Saiyan Legion launched attacks far and wide, Lin Chen returned to Earth.
The system had given him three years for this mission, so Lin Chen planned to revive Hanasia and the others first.
As soon as he returned to Earth, Lin Chen stopped by the Turtle House.
When he arrived, he saw Master Roshi teaching martial arts to Tights and Bulma.
"Master Roshi! Tights! Bulma!"
Lin Chen greeted them, shared another display of affection with Tights, then got straight to the reason for his visit.
"You want this ball of mine? I've studied it for years, but I still have no idea what it is."
Looking puzzled, Master Roshi lifted the Dragon Ball hanging around his neck.
"Yes. It's actually called a Dragon Ball. There are seven in total, and if you gather them all, you can have one wish granted."
"What? It can really do that?" Master Roshi exclaimed, but he still handed the Dragon Ball to Lin Chen.
"You're already so powerful, yet you still need this thing. It must be something urgent, right? Go ahead and take it."
"Thank you, Master Roshi."
Lin Chen took the Dragon Ball, said goodbye to the three of them, and used Instant Transmission to go elsewhere.
After Lin Chen left, however, a gleam flashed in Bulma's eyes.
"So the Shenron Lin Chen told us about before really exists?"
After taking Master Roshi's Dragon Ball, Lin Chen arrived at Mount Paozu a moment later.
Kid Goku, who still lived alone in the mountains, was out hunting. Lin Chen silently apologized and took his Four-Star Ball.
Next, he went to Kami's Lookout.
"Big Brother Linx!"
The first to come out and greet Lin Chen was Broly, who had been living there for over a year.
He wore an outfit much like Kami's, and he had started growing taller. Lin Chen almost didn't recognize him.
"Hey, Broly!"
Looking at the friendly-faced Broly before him, so completely different from his former self, then thinking of the other Broly this mission required him to face, Lin Chen couldn't help feeling rather impressive. He had even managed to change Broly this much.
"Broly, how have things been here?"
"Wonderful. It's all thanks to you bringing me here, Big Brother Linx. Every day, I get to learn all kinds of new things from Mr. Popo and Kami!" Broly replied.
Lin Chen smiled, then looked up at Kami, who was walking toward them.
After greeting him, Lin Chen explained why he had come. "Kami, I'd like you to help me find the remaining Dragon Balls. I already have two."
Lin Chen took out the two Dragon Balls he had collected.
Kami glanced at them, then said, "Mr. Lin Chen, I believe I've told you before that I..."
"Don't know where the Dragon Balls are?"
Lin Chen interrupted him. "Kami, help me this once, and I can take you to visit your homeworld."
"Planet Namek?"
Kami's eyes widened.
When Lin Chen had brought Broly here last time, Kami had learned that he was actually an alien from another planet.
As an alien orphan, he had always wanted to visit his homeworld.
But Kami soon frowned and shook his head. "No. I'm Earth's guardian. I can't leave this lookout for too long."
Lin Chen immediately said, "Don't worry. It won't take long. I can use Instant Transmission, so taking you to Planet Namek will only take an instant."
At that, Kami was finally won over.
If it was only a few hours, there really wouldn't be much of a problem.
Driven by his longing to return home, Kami stopped brushing Lin Chen off and immediately instructed Mr. Popo to gather all the remaining Dragon Balls.
