Gloomy shadows covered the firmament like a vast curtain. The sun vanished, shadow replaced light, and all that remained was a dense darkness unchanged through the ages, with countless wandering souls and stray ghosts drifting within.
That immense shadow clung in reverse to the Li Fire Grand Formation to the south, like an ulcer gnawing at the bone. It moved with the Li light, yet the distance between them remained constant. When light perished, shadow vanished; neither could reach the other.
Beneath the shadows, whenever anyone moved, they left trails of afterimages fixed in place, stretching endlessly behind them like an impossibly long queue, or a long, gray rope.

Blue-black demonic qi swirled. Nangang reacted swiftly, calling out a warning as he summoned a vermilion-gold net of Li Fire and sent it sweeping toward the shadows behind him.
Brilliant Li Fire shone down. The fiery net fluttered, instantly burning those afterimages to pale ash.
Xu Xuan had already sensed something amiss and looked behind him.
The afterimages were blurry and gray, motionless, each depicting one of his earlier movements. Now, howling Yin ghosts swept toward them.
Intense pain surged through him. Gray-black patches of mildew rose one after another across his Azure Cloud armor, giving off a foul stench as they gradually spread toward that majestic face of a Thunderbolt god.
Silver light billowed like an ocean, thunder surged, and a single sword stroke destroyed the afterimages behind him. Meanwhile, Tiantuo's shout rang out within his Inner Scenery:
"Do not move recklessly."
The immortal general, towering like a mountain, stood motionless with his sword planted before him. Sure enough, no more afterimages or Yin ghosts appeared behind him.
Seeing this, Nangang likewise remained still. Nothing unusual appeared behind him again,
