A sigh came from beneath the Bronze Ghost Mask. The surroundings of Xu Xuan's Dharma Body had become purely formless. He raised his dark sleeve, and dense incantation script instantly poured out, binding a speck of azure light as it emerged.
Within that azure light lurked all manner of foul energies, deep and murky, with ghosts and monsters hidden inside. Under the formless pressure, it let out a wailing scream.
It was none other than Dead Ash's Attendant Envoy-Human!
This creature had taken advantage of the High Lord's fall to devour golden nature, only to be captured by Eastern Azure. The golden nature within it had been sent to Penglai, while the remainder had fallen into Xu Xuan's hands.
"The Dao of this Lord of Taboo Wood is now very different from that of old. It has undergone great changes, has it not?"
Xu Xuan had become deeply involved in the affairs of Wood and Fire, and with Tiantuo beside him expounding the arts, he naturally had a thorough understanding of the changes in "taboo wood."
"Venerated Deity... you truly are well informed."
There was a hint of acknowledgment in Wei Suhua's tone, and her respect for the ghost god before her deepened.
Xu Xuan had deduced all of this entirely from existing traces, aided by his exceptionally high Dao attainment!
Although the present Lord of Taboo Wood had slumbered for years, ignored worldly affairs, and never even appeared during the war between Wood and Fire, that lord had likely benefited greatly from the burning of li fire.
"Taboo wood" originally belonged among the five essences, occupying the position of wood's afflictions, and often manifested as ugly, malformed things. Now, however, it was entirely different!
Were Penglai's two Great True Persons, Huaiyin and
