Lin Yan forged the Gengjin Sword Pellet, entered Heavens Arena’s 200th Floor, and protected Gon, Killua, and Zushi from hostile fighters. After rescuing Zushi and advising Gon, Lin Yan watched Gon begin his match against Hisoka, who quickly gained the upper hand.

• Lin Yan forged the Gengjin Sword Pellet while Wing taught Gon and Killua Nen, and the boys opened their Aura Nodes through Lin Yan’s breathing method.
• Lin Yan faced Hisoka’s Nen pressure on the way to register for the 200th Floor, cut through it with Sword Intent, and collapsed from the strain afterward.
• Lin Yan defeated Jidou in under a minute with the Sword Pellet, earning a huge payout from Killua’s wager.
• Libedo and Shadaso attacked Lin Yan backstage, but the Gengjin Sword Pellet wounded Shadaso and drove both men away before Lin Yan passed out.

Lin Yan pursued the materials and prophecy he needed to strengthen his cultivation, while making plans to meet Gon, Killua, and Hisoka in Yorknew City. After obtaining the Essence of Yi Wood in Meteor City and defeating its Executioners, he faced the awakened Elders to negotiate.

• Lin Yan agreed to meet Hisoka in Yorknew City on September 1, then parted from Gon and Killua as they left for Whale Island.
• After his divination failed, Lin Yan used a tracking crane to find Kurapika and arranged to work with the Nostrade family in exchange for Neon’s prophecy.
• Neon’s prophecy pointed Lin Yan toward the Yorknew auction for Li Fire and Meteor City for the Essence of Yi Wood.
• Lin Yan defeated the Heretic Inquisition Squad’s puppets, purified the Ghost-Faced Withered Vine’s guardian spirits, and took the Essence of Yi Wood as green shoots spread across Meteor City.
• When the Grand Elder and three Executioners confronted him, Lin Yan killed the Executioners, including Sarah, who attacked him with her life-stealing Nen.
