Sunlight streamed through the window, cutting a bright strip across the floor.
Today was September 1, the day the Mafia's underground auction began.
Odin stood in the middle of the living room, training.
Ponzu sat on the living room sofa, feeding the two Glassy Giant-vein Dragonflies. This time, it wasn't honey, but a mouse.
Dozens of bees crawled out of her hat, gathered nectar from the fresh flowers Ponzu had prepared, then settled back on the brim.
Ding-
The doorbell rang.
Ponzu glanced up, put the dragonflies back into their cloth bags, and hung one at her waist and the other on her back.
She stood, walked to the door, and opened it after asking who was there.
Three people stood outside.
Gon stood at the front with a smile on his face.
Killua stood beside him, his hands in his pockets, yawning widely.
Leorio stood at the back, holding a paper bag. When he saw Ponzu, he greeted her with a smile.
"Morning," Gon said. "Is Odin here?"
Ponzu stepped aside to let them in.
The three entered the room and saw Odin, who had stopped training.
"What brings you here so early?" Odin asked, looking at the three in puzzlement.
"Leorio came up with a great way to make money!" Gon said excitedly.
Odin walked over to the sofa and sat down. Ponzu sat beside him.
"What is it?" Odin asked.
Leorio set his paper bag on the table and pulled out several things-a wooden board, a marker, and a stack of paper.
"An arm-wrestling challenge with an entry fee and a prize," Leorio said.
Odin raised an eyebrow.
He knew this one. It was exactly what they had done in the original story.
Though they didn't seem to have prepared quite as much in the original story.
