Sunlight fell on the awning, casting a patch of shade on the ground.
An occasional breeze stirred the awning, making it rustle softly.
People bustled along the street, many passing right in front of them.
Some glanced at the items on the table, then kept walking.
Some stopped to ask a few questions, but left when they heard the steep prices.
Some never looked at all, or simply failed to notice, and walked straight past.
They waited for about half an hour.
Several men came around the street corner.
Leading them was a short, stocky middle-aged man in a floral shirt, with a thick gold chain around his neck and several gold rings on his fingers.
He swaggered along, shoulders swaying, his gaze sweeping over the roadside stalls as though he were inspecting his own territory.
Four underlings in black suits followed behind him.
They wore the same arrogant expressions, but radiated murderous menace. They definitely had blood on their hands.
Odin narrowed his eyes.
The short, stocky middle-aged man passed several stalls before stopping at a shop selling gemstones.
He picked up a gemstone, examined it, then tossed it back onto the counter, looking thoroughly displeased. It was a fake.
The shopkeeper offered an ingratiating smile and said something.
The man ignored him, turned, and kept walking.
He passed Odin and Ponzu's stall.
Odin didn't move. Neither did Ponzu.
The man took two more steps, then stopped.
He turned around, walked back, and stood in front of the stall.
His gaze settled on the insect specimen on the table.
"What's this?" he asked.
"A Human-Faced Beetle specimen," Ponzu said.
The man reached out and picked it up, holding it against the light. The Human-Faced Beetle's unusual appearance fascinated him.
