Odin withdrew his gaze and rubbed his chin, looking a little surprised.
He knew Machi could detect his perception, so he had just used the advanced technique In to conceal his gaze.
He had thought she would no longer notice him watching, but now, without actually pinpointing his gaze, Machi seemed to have detected his surveillance through her sixth sense.
And the others had all believed her without question.
Ponzu leaned closer and asked quietly, "What's wrong?"
Odin shook his head with a smile. "Nothing. I just didn't expect a woman's sixth sense to be so unreasonable."
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Ponzu looked at Odin helplessly.
"Can you tell whether I'm using Observation Haki right now?" Odin asked, smiling at Ponzu with narrowed eyes.
Ponzu froze for a moment, then shook her head.
"Someone in that group noticed, relying on her sixth sense. Isn't that ridiculous?" Odin laughed in exasperation.
"What?!" Ponzu exclaimed in surprise as well.
"You really can't underestimate anyone," Odin said with a sigh.
Ponzu nodded in agreement and leaned back in her seat.
The car kept moving. The headlights in the distance grew farther and farther away, finally disappearing into the night.
It was still dark when they returned to the hotel.
Odin and Ponzu went upstairs and entered their room.
Ponzu sat on the sofa and let out a long breath. "Tonight was quite a thrill."
"Yeah." Odin nodded in agreement.
He took two bottles of water from the refrigerator, handed one to Ponzu, and opened the other to take a few sips.
Ponzu accepted the water without drinking it and looked at him. "What do you think will happen to that thief they carried off?"
"Who cares? It's got nothing to do with us anymore." Odin waved dismissively.
