Arc 5Cultivation and the Hidden Talismans

Odin collected cards and studied Nen scripts before inscribing a dantian and cultivating True Essence to reach Foundation Establishment. He gave Ponzu Nen Script meridians and began exploring the Tiger and Horse Talismans, while Ponzu started cultivating and Odin remained uncertain how to advance toward Core Formation.

  • Odin and Ponzu defeated bandits, paid their leader for the Dingdang card, and Odin discovered he could not yet power its storage property.
  • Odin used the Wandering Soul Pillow and Reiatsu to explore soul-form abilities, then traveled with Ponzu to Aiai and won a Muscle Enhancer card.
  • Odin summoned the Wish-Granting Demon, received three wishes, and used a wish-granting Dragon to collect more cards and study their Nen scripts.
  • After many players’ cards vanished, Odin focused on Nen and ki, deciphered Nen scripts, and inscribed a storage structure into his bones to create a dantian.

Arc 6Departure for the Dark Continent

Odin and Ponzu helped end the Chimera Ant crisis, after which Odin was made Hunter Association chairman and used his authority to prepare for the Dark Continent. The arc ended with Odin’s own ship setting out alongside Netero, Ging, and their companions, while Odin resolved to strengthen his group for the journey.

  • Odin formed a Golden Core, left Greed Island with Ponzu, and accompanied her home to reunite with her parents.
  • Odin helped Ponzu reach Foundation Establishment, then agreed to join the fight against the Chimera Ants in the NGL.
  • Odin and Netero attacked the nest, where Meruem was born and Netero fought him while Odin killed the Royal Guards and other ants.
  • Odin killed Meruem, healed Netero, and reunited with the other Hunters before they returned to the Hunter Association.

Arc 7The Dark Continent Expedition

Odin led the Hunters across the Dark Continent, where they established a fortified base and cultivated while learning about the local peoples. When Anvil City and the God of Light Church attacked, Netero drove off the Church’s avatar, leaving the enemy to warn its pope.

  • Odin strengthened the crew during the voyage, fought off sea beasts, and brought the expedition to the Dark Continent, where the group explored and established a camp.
  • Odin captured part of Ai, then led the expedition onward as its members cultivated until they reached Foundation Establishment and Kurapika recovered his lost lifespan.
  • At a settlement, Odin’s group defeated mercenaries who planned to capture them, then established a base and suspended exploration while they pursued the Golden Core Realm.
  • Odin sent the captured mercenaries to Ai, and Cheadle began building a city as the Hunters cultivated at the new base.
  • Morel’s Purple Smoke Soldiers drove off a caravan and then defeated forces sent from Anvil City, while Netero and Ging joined the fighting to train.

Arc 8Odin Challenges the Starry Sky

Odin defeated the God of Light, brought new allies to Elf City, and advanced his cultivation while investigating the beings beyond the world. He infiltrated the Yura civilization’s station and challenged its powerful Starry Sky Octopus rulers, ending with him reaching toward a Particle Black Hole.

  • Odin removed the God of Light’s divine spark and killed him, then returned to Elf City as the Church reeled from its defeat.
  • Odin studied the crystal core and met the Goddess of Nature, who warned that the high gods would test or challenge him after the God of Light’s death.
  • Ging joined Elwen’s tribe, rescued its elves from slave hunters, and helped bring 237 elves to Elf City, where Kurapika arranged a new homeland for them.
  • Odin reached full mastery of the Deification Realm, then confronted two octopus-like beings that had entered through a hole in the world’s shell and captured them.
  • Odin learned from the octopuses’ memories that the Yura civilization ran the testing grounds as a livestock farm and planned to harvest them every hundred years.
  • Odin infiltrated the Yura space station and captured its Starry Sky Octopuses and eighteen Integration-stage and three Tribulation Transcendence-stage chief gods.
