Early the next morning.
Thick fog shrouded the valley.
A dilapidated village lay ahead.
Most of the NPCs here looked sallow and emaciated.
Agonized coughing rose from all directions.
According to the game's normal walkthrough,
this was a large, multipart quest hub.
Players first had to ask around the village for clues.
Then they had to gather specific medicinal herbs deep in the mountains.
They had to cure the villagers' illness.
Only then could they obtain a clue from the village chief.
They would head to the hideout in the hills behind the village and wipe out the bandit gang holed up there.
That would earn them the designated-slot card [Sword of Truth].
Biscuit held the strategy guide.
She was explaining the quest sequence to Gon and Killua.
"First, we need to visit the clinic at the west end of the village."
"Find the doctor with an exclamation mark over his head."
Biscuit pointed at a distant thatched hut.
Luo Ye walked at the head of the group.
He let out a huge yawn.
He showed no intention of stopping.
He walked straight through the village.
He headed toward the hills behind it.
"Hey."
Killua called from behind.
"You're going the wrong way."
"The clinic's over there."
Luo Ye waved without looking back.
"What clinic?"
"This quest chain is long and tedious as hell."
Luo Ye's voice dripped with impatience.
"This whole running errands for the plot routine."
"It's a complete waste of life."
"We're going straight to the hills."
Biscuit froze.
"If we skip the prerequisite story events,"
"the bandit leader won't spawn."
Luo Ye sneered.
"If he won't spawn,"
"I'll level the hill."
"Force him to spawn."
The four followed Luo Ye into the hills behind the village.
A massive natural cavern lay there.
