All they could do now was wait.
In the latter half of the night,
a low hum came from the sky.
The sound was muffled,
as though some enormous creature were tearing through the clouds.
Kite's eyes snapped open.
He stepped out of the tent.
He looked up at the night sky.
An enormous black airship had switched off all its running lights.
Like a giant ghostly bird,
it hovered soundlessly in the darkness above the camp.
Three figures leaped from the airship's hatch.
They used no parachutes.
They simply plunged straight toward the ground.
Thud.
An instant before landing,
all three unleashed powerful Nen aura visible to the naked eye.
Their aura formed a cushion,
allowing them to land steadily on the grass.
They did not stir up so much as a speck of dust.
Leading them was an old man wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the character for "heart."
He had a scruffy beard
and wore a pair of wooden clogs.
