Naruto discovered that Amaru was a girl and helped her approach her teacher, Shinnō, but Sky Ninja attacked and abducted her. After Naruto sealed the Zero-Tails inside Amaru, he learned Shinnō had ordered the attack, leaving Amaru devastated as the seal on her face suppressed the beast.

• Urashiki sensed that Momoshiki and Kinshiki had been killed, then decided to seek out Jinchūriki after enjoying a fishing trip.
• Urashiki traveled toward Sunagakure and sensed Shukaku’s chakra and a nearby person with a large amount of chakra.
• Gaara sensed someone in the Kazekage’s office, and Urashiki emerged through a black spatial vortex.
• Urashiki pierced Gaara with his chakra hook, stole chakra from him, and knocked him unconscious.
• Urashiki left through Yomotsu Hirasaka while the people of Sunagakure remained unaware of the attack.

Urashiki attacked Gaara and drained his chakra, prompting the Kazekage to request Konoha's help against the powerful Ōtsutsuki. Naruto assembled a team to support Sunagakure while Shinki remained in danger.

• Urashiki drained Gaara's chakra and left him unconscious, and Baki found his wound and sent him to the hospital.
• Gaara woke and warned Baki that a powerful Ōtsutsuki could drain chakra, then learned Shukaku was away with Shinki.

Boruto, Shinki, and Shukaku discussed Gaara’s injury and the danger posed by an enemy hunting tailed beasts, then Urashiki Otsutsuki found them. Boruto recognized the threat and refused Momoshiki’s offer of power, knowing he still could not defeat Urashiki.
