Itachi watched Meihui digging holes in the ground with a shovel and could hardly believe his eyes.
"Meihui, aren't you making a bit too much of this?"
"No, no, no, Itachi. You don't understand." As Meihui spoke, he dropped nails into the hole, followed by some shards of glass.
"Hey, hey, hey, Meihui, aren't you going a little too far?" Sasuke happened to walk over just as Meihui was stuffing a skunk into another trap.
Their mouths twitched. This guy really had no shame.
After restoring the ground to its original appearance, Meihui dusted the dirt off himself.
"Too far? I don't think I've gone too far at all. Hey, little bro, watch out. I set a trap there too."
When Meihui saw that Naruto, the reckless idiot, actually dared to test one, he immediately shouted at him to stop. Good grief, was this something you could just try out? Try it and die! Though he knew Naruto's life wouldn't actually be in danger.
Still, Meihui had set these traps himself. Others might not know what was in them, but he certainly did. Every one had been custom-made for Danzo.
Meanwhile, over on Danzo's side, Yamanaka Fū, who was clearing the way ahead, still felt rather uneasy.
"Sir, could this be a trap? Are we really going to rush straight in?"
Danzo shook his head, indicating that he was overthinking it.
"No. I've forgotten more than that brat has ever learned. I can see through his little tricks with ease." Danzo glanced ahead with his lone eye and spotted the traps Meihui had laid.
"Hahaha! See those traps up ahead? I told you, he's nothing but a wet-behind-the-ears brat. He can't even set a proper trap."
At that sight, most of Danzo's lingering anxiety melted away.
