After listening to Meihui ramble on for ages, Haku nodded, bowed in thanks, and left.
Who wouldn't be dazzled by a beauty like Haku?
Meihui had really racked his brains, making up that long story.
Haku and Zabuza's story ended in tragedy in the original. With me, Meihui, here this time, how could I let that tragedy happen again?
Meihui waited a while before going back to find Naruto and Sasuke. When Naruto saw him return, he was very curious.
"Onii-chan, where's that pretty girl from earlier? Why didn't she come back with you?"
Hearing Naruto's question, Meihui really didn't want to answer him, but he noticed that Sasuke, despite looking busy training, had an ear cocked toward their conversation.
Meihui sighed.
"It's nothing, little bro. His heart already belongs to someone else. We don't stand a chance."
Naruto was heartbroken at Meihui's words.
"What? I'd already thought up names for our kids! It hurts! It hurts so much!"
Naruto couldn't stop his stubborn tears from falling.
Beside him, Sasuke was so amused by Naruto's antics that he couldn't hold back a laugh.
"Hey, Sasuke, you got a problem?"
Naruto's tone made Sasuke a little angry too.
"Naruto, what does a hopeless simp like you have to mope about?"
Whether it was because of Indra and Asura or something else, whenever Naruto shouted "Sasuke," Sasuke would answer with "Naruto." At first, they had simply been calling each other's names normally, but it kept getting stranger, and for some reason, both of them would get incredibly worked up.
Seeing that the two were about to start again, Meihui quickly interrupted them.
"All right, both of you, settle down. Naruto, have you learned Wind Release yet? Sasuke, stop laughing. Have you learned Chidori yet? I already have."
Hearing that Meihui had already learned Chidori, Sasuke felt rather embarrassed. He was a member of the Uchiha Clan, yet he couldn't match this blond. (Little did he know, this blond's background was frighteningly powerful.)
With that, Meihui formed a few hand seals: rat, horse, monkey, horse, rabbit.
Blue light flared in Meihui's hand, and the wild lightning gave off a piercing noise, leaving Naruto and Sasuke green with envy.
But Meihui soon dispelled Chidori and sighed.
"Well, I've learned Chidori, but I probably won't have much use for it."
"Why, Onii-chan? It looks like you've already mastered it."
Meihui smiled and explained.
"Chidori increases your movement speed when you use it. But because that increase is so great, you can't see your enemy's movements clearly. A stronger enemy could easily predict your next move. For me, that drawback is too big."
After saying that, Meihui looked at Sasuke and couldn't help remarking,
"But Sasuke won't have that problem. You could say this Ninjutsu was practically tailor-made for him. The Sharingan's ability to track motion makes up for that weakness perfectly."
"Tsk, tsk, Sasuke, how about digging out your eyeballs and letting me play with them?"
Never content unless he said something shocking, Meihui left Sasuke at a loss for how to respond.
Sasuke's gaze had already grown wary as he looked at Meihui.
"Hey, Sasuke, don't look at me like that. Am I really that kind of person?"
But Naruto and Sasuke both nodded at once. He could confidently drop the question mark.
Meihui waved a hand helplessly. Why wouldn't anyone believe him when he told the truth these days?
And so, Meihui began teaching Sasuke and Naruto Ninjutsu.
He created a Shadow Clone to handle Naruto while his original body began teaching Sasuke how to use Chidori.
From morning straight through to night, Meihui taught them with great care, covering both the underlying principles and the finer details. Kakashi stopped by once, and after hearing Meihui's understanding of Chidori, he felt that even he might not be able to explain it so thoroughly.
Sasuke was Sasuke, after all. At this early stage, his talent surpassed Naruto's. After exhausting his chakra and collapsing on the ground several times, Sasuke finally managed to unleash Chidori once.
Naruto, on the other hand, hadn't learned even the basics of a single Ninjutsu after an entire day. All anyone could say was that Naruto was still far too hopeless right now.
As the sun was about to set, Meihui dragged the two exhausted pigs back, one in each hand.
