At the barbecue restaurant, the group sat around a table, eating grilled meat.
Konohamaru, who had come along for a free meal, kept eating, but he just couldn't let it go. He tried to hold it in, yet the more he thought about it, the angrier he got. He slapped the table.
"Big bro, boss, why didn't you keep chasing them earlier? You should've taught them a lesson!"
Konohamaru threw a few punches as he spoke, as if venting his lingering frustration.
Seeing him like this, Meihui set down his chopsticks.
The others stopped eating too when they noticed that Meihui seemed to have something to say.
"I wanted to teach them a lesson too. After all, I can't stand people who are even more arrogant than I am."
"But they came to Konoha for the chunin ninja exams. We'll have plenty of chances to meet them again. Besides, that sand brat with the gourd on his back isn't as simple as he looks. I could teach him a lesson, but you guys might not be able to take him head-on."
"And it isn't just Sunagakure coming here. There are ninja from other villages too. If we start fighting before the exams even begin, we'll just look arrogant and overbearing."
"At the very least, chasing them any further would've been rude."
Konohamaru nodded at Meihui's words, only half understanding them.
Who knew whether he'd actually understood any of it?
"Little bro, next time you see him, blast that bastard with a Rasengan. You too, Sasuke. Zap them dead with Chidori."
Seeing Meihui's sinister side, the others couldn't help swallowing nervously.
Once they'd eaten and drunk their fill, they all went home to rest.
The next day, the three met up and headed to the exam venue together.
When they reached the entrance to Classroom 301, plenty of candidates were already waiting.
Meihui looked at Konoha's two gate guardians, Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki, standing at the door. Back when Pain invaded Konoha, he hadn't even dared enter through the main gate-all because of these two mighty guardians.
After glancing at them, Meihui immediately saw through their boring little genjutsu trick.
"Let's go. This isn't Room 301. Come on."
Hearing Meihui say that, the two gate guardians exchanged smiles and let them leave.
The three continued toward Room 301, running into members of the Konoha 12 along the way.
They exchanged greetings with everyone and finally arrived at Classroom 301.
Quite a few people were already there. Seeing the crowd, Naruto immediately started hollering.
"Believe it! You bunch of small fry had better watch out during these chunin ninja exams. I'll beat you so hard you'll be picking your teeth up off the floor!"
Naruto's brazen boasting drew angry glares from everyone.
"Hey, you little brat! Who do you think you're looking down on?"
Otogakure's Six Paths Dosu couldn't take it anymore.
He charged forward to give Naruto a beating. But for Naruto to dare say something like that in front of everyone...
Meihui had definitely put him up to it. How could he stand by and let someone bully Naruto?
With a Body Flicker Technique, he appeared beside Naruto and kicked Six Paths Dosu flying, plastering him against the wall so firmly that no one could pry him off.
Meihui's kick was so powerful that it knocked the Six Paths right out of Six Paths Dosu, leaving him just Dosu.
"Whoa, did any of you see how he got over there?"
"That speed is insane."
"If you run into him, you'd better avoid fighting."
Hearing their comments, Meihui didn't forget to add fuel to the fire.
"What my little brother said just now pretty much sums up how I feel. With all due respect, everyone here is trash."
Despite Meihui's outrageous arrogance, no one dared charge out again. After all, there was still someone stuck to the wall who hadn't been pried off yet.
Meihui smiled. Mission accomplished.
Just then, Kabuto Yakushi approached and began introducing himself.
"I'm Kabuto Yakushi. How should I put this? I suppose you could call me your senior. I've got information on everyone here. Want to take a look?"
Kabuto Yakushi's words seemed almost magical, drawing the group in.
