Naruto's sudden intrusion left Kawaki bewildered. Who is this guy? Why did he just barge in like a complete idiot? Still, he remembered to say hello. Pretty polite of him.
While Kawaki studied Naruto, Naruto studied him right back. The two gazed deeply into each other's eyes for quite a while, until Kawaki finally couldn't stand it anymore and conceded defeat.
"Hey, what are you looking at?"
"You. Got a problem with that?"
Naruto blurted it out without thinking. His mouth raced ahead while his brain struggled to catch up.
For some reason, hearing that made Kawaki inexplicably angry. What the heck is going on?
"Seriously, who are you, and what are you doing here?"
Kawaki eyed the goofy-looking Naruto. He probably isn't one of Jigen's men. That guy shouldn't have any subordinates with something this wrong with their brains.
Naruto had no idea the boy before him thought of him that way.
"Me? I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I got lost and stumbled into this place. Oh, right, what's your name?"
Naruto introduced himself with easy familiarity, but Kawaki ignored him. He simply walked over to the opening Naruto had smashed through and gazed longingly into the distance, as though something he had always sought lay out there: the taste of freedom.
