After deciding to find Kawaki, Code set off at once, but he had barely gotten away from the laboratory when someone Jigen had sent intercepted him.
"Code, come back with me quietly. Lord Jigen wants to see you."
The mysterious Masked Man spoke coldly.
Code merely gave him an indifferent glance and kept going.
"I'll bring Kawaki back myself, then ask Lord Jigen to forgive me."
But the mysterious Masked Man clearly had no interest in listening to Code's nonsense. Who knew where Kawaki had been taken by now? He decided to simply capture Code and bring him back to report.
The mysterious Masked Man stepped directly into Code's path, his tone as cold as before.
"Code, come back with me. I don't want to repeat myself."
"Damn it, how many times do I have to tell you? I'm going to bring Kawaki back myself."
"I'll say it one more time. Get out of my way."
Code's hands turned into steel claws, sending showers of sparks flying as they clashed.
The mysterious Masked Man gave a scornful chuckle at the sight, suddenly feeling like toying with him.
"You seem pretty confident in your strength, brat."
Code found the man before him incredibly irritating. He wore a mask all day, never daring to show his true face, yet Code could sense a powerful aura coming from him. This man was strong. As he was now, Code was no match for him-not unless he could remove the limiters inside his body.
Code lunged forward, attacking the mysterious Masked Man with his enormous steel claws, but what happened next left him dumbfounded. Every attack passed straight through the man's body without inflicting the slightest damage.
Code stared at the mysterious Masked Man in shock. Since when had their organization had someone like this?
