Boro sprinted ahead while Itachi chased after him. The ninjas they passed stopped in their tracks, watching the pursuit with curiosity.
Passerby A: "Look at that big guy up front. Is he carrying some kind of accessory?"
Passerby B: "Where, where? Let me see. Holy crap, that's no accessory! He's clearly carrying a person. That poor guy looks absolutely miserable, though."
Passerby A: "Say, isn't the guy being held like a little chick from Konoha?"
Passerby B: "Yeah, you can tell from his insignia. I think I even know him. His name's something like Sarutobi Meatball. Whatever, I can't really remember. He's from Konoha's Sarutobi Clan, anyway."
Ninjas all had excellent hearing. Even though the three of them had already run a long way, they still heard the two passersby's conversation behind them. That felt awfully uncalled for. Still conscious, Konohamaru felt as though his whole world had collapsed.
To keep Konohamaru from dying, Boro had neutralized some of the poison in his body. He hadn't expected them to run into such a ridiculous scene.
Itachi turned his head away, pretending he didn't know him and was merely passing by. Even Boro switched Konohamaru from one hand to the other in disgust.
Konohamaru wanted to cry, but no tears came.
"Just end it all. I'm tired."
Konohamaru felt like he was about to breathe his last. Boro didn't have the slightest idea how to treat someone gently. They hadn't even reached Konoha yet, and he already felt as if he would vomit himself to death. He'd actually gotten "person-sick."
Meanwhile, Sasuke had been bored at home and had just lain down to sleep when he sensed activity from his Summoning Scroll. He hurried to check it.
