Code had never imagined that a little squirt like Daemon would beat him up. Only after he had taken a beating did Ada decide to hear him out about what had happened.
But Ada's words nearly made Code choke. For a moment, he felt like a complete clown.
"Oh, got it. But why should we help you?"
Code was thoroughly baffled. Was that really how this worked?
Weren't we members of the same organization?
Code struggled to his feet and stared at Ada in disbelief. He had never imagined that a mouth at normal body temperature could produce words that cold.
He was about to argue, but then he remembered what the siblings had been through recently and swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue.
"Sigh. Fine."
After saying that, Code turned to leave.
But just then, Ada stopped him.
"Where's Kawaki?"
Code answered without a second thought.
"In Konoha."
Code had no intention of turning back. He kept walking, quietly falling apart inside.
"Wait. We can help you, but you have to promise me you won't hurt Kawaki."
Code rubbed his ears in disbelief at her words. She had refused just a moment ago, and now she suddenly agreed?
"All right. I promise I won't hurt Kawaki."
Code agreed to Ada's request without a second thought.
"What's the big deal? You just want me not to hurt Kawaki. I thought you were going to make some outrageous demand, but that's all?"
Then Code told the siblings about Konoha's strongest fighters, one by one.
Ada found it rather hard to believe. Apparently, Meihui Uzumaki was quite powerful, and Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha were formidable enemies as well.
As for Boruto, whom Code wanted to capture, he was outside her concerns. She only wanted to be with Kawaki.
