Kakashi looked at the man before him and felt the pressure mounting. This was Uchiha Itachi, the man who had once slaughtered the entire Uchiha Clan.
Meanwhile, seeing Kakashi staring at him, Itachi wondered if there was something on his face.
Itachi had no idea what was going through Kakashi's head. If he had known, he would certainly have said, "When your reputation precedes you, some of it is good and some of it is bad. That was then; this is now."
Kakashi's constant staring made Itachi feel a little awkward, so he shot him a glare. That little gesture scared Kakashi badly enough that he hurriedly stopped Asuma and Kurenai from attacking.
"Careful. His Sharingan is extremely powerful. Don't look into his eyes." As he spoke, he lifted his forehead protector, revealing his own Sharingan.
"Only a Sharingan can probably stand up to him. Be careful. Whatever you do, don't open your eyes and meet his gaze, or you'll fall under his genjutsu."
Hearing Kakashi's words, Itachi couldn't help indulging in a humblebrag. "The Uchiha Clan is feared throughout the shinobi world because of our kekkei genkai, the Sharingan. But mine is no ordinary Sharingan. Fall under its genjutsu."
With that, Itachi pulled Kakashi straight into the Tsukuyomi Space. Only when Kakashi saw the scene before him did he realize he had fallen under Itachi's genjutsu, and he tried to dispel it.
But he found he couldn't break free at all. Then Itachi appeared, blade in hand, and stabbed him. It was clearly an illusion, yet the pain felt so real. All Kakashi could do was force himself to stay calm.
This is just an illusion, Kakashi told himself, clinging to the lie. Itachi seemed to have guessed what he was thinking.
"This is no ordinary illusion. This is
