When Meihui saw Obito kill the Three-Tails outright, he could not help marveling at how ruthless the man was.

Seeing Obito and Deidara escape, Meihui did not send anyone after them. They could never catch those two anyway, so they could only let the tigers return to the mountains.

Though Deidara was grumbling to himself, he kept his expression composed.

Obito glanced at Deidara and ignored him after that. One look at his face was enough to tell that he was thinking nothing good.

But that was how the Akatsuki had always been. Some had joined because they had lost their way, while others had fled there for refuge. It was a mixed bag, with everyone harboring their own ulterior motives, nowhere near as united as they appeared. Without the legendary Rinnegan keeping them in line, the place would probably have descended into chaos long ago.

Without another word, Obito and Deidara left Kirigakure.
