"The office? Did he say what he wanted to see me about?"
Yechen asked.
The two Anbu Ninja shook their heads, looking as though they had no idea either.
Seeing this, Yechen shrugged and said,
"All right, give me a moment."
Without waiting for their answer, Yechen headed straight back inside to wash up. After changing his clothes, he stepped outside, locked the door, and said to the two of them,
"Let's go."
The two Anbu Ninja wasted no words and led the way.
Walking down the street, Yechen could clearly sense how much quieter it was today, as though even the air was heavy with tension.
Normally, the streets would already have been bustling at this hour. Today, however, he saw no villagers at all, only patrol squads.
Clearly, everyone had been frightened by the fighting that broke out last night. No one dared wander the streets at a time like this.
Still, none of that had anything to do with him. Right now, he only wanted to know what exactly Minato Namikaze wanted with him.
First, one thing was certain: last night's intrusion into the secret chamber in the Hokage Building had made them suspicious of him.
Otherwise, they would not have sent two Anbu Ninja just to deliver a message.
Moreover, the two had stayed even after delivering it. It clearly felt like surveillance.
But that also meant he had not left behind any solid evidence or directly exposed his identity. Otherwise, they would have done more than simply watch him.
So, aside from probing him further, they had something else in mind by summoning him this time.
Of course, that was only his guess. He would have to see Minato Namikaze to find out whether it was right.
Before long, they arrived at the Hokage Building.
