Chihane had just finished breakfast with Tsunade when a message arrived from Jonin Sasaki: Danzo was here!
Shikaku Nara had feared that Chihane and Danzo would get into an argument right at the camp gates, so he had not informed Chihane.
After all, Chihane had a history of that sort of thing. What Shikaku had not expected was that Chihane had informants of his own in the camp.
Tsunade also heard the news Jonin Sasaki had sent. She had already heard that, before the decisive battle against the Mist Ninja, Chihane had nearly kicked Danzo to death.
She felt he had vented some of her anger for her, too. In truth, hardly any of Konoha's Jonin liked Danzo.
Danzo had always lurked in the village's shadows. He never appeared on the front lines, yet he constantly found ways to trouble the Great Clans. Who could possibly like him?
But Hiruzen Sarutobi had always protected him, and his Root was powerful, so there was little anyone could do about him.
Chihane's kick, however, had given everyone a satisfying release. Quite a few people had even regretted that Danzo had survived.
Still, with a major battle imminent, Tsunade did not want internal fighting to cost them one of their strongest combatants before it began.
She therefore planned to accompany Chihane. If a fight really broke out, she could intervene at the critical moment and stop him.
Chihane naturally had no objection to Tsunade coming along, so he took her straight to the Command Center to wait for Danzo.
As soon as Chihane entered the Command Center, he settled into the commander's seat without hesitation, asserting his authority before Danzo even arrived.
