After killing the Third Raikage, Chihane became the target of a demand by three villages, but his confrontation at the Five Kage Summit shifted Konoha’s support toward Orochimaru. Orochimaru’s bid for Hokage gathered allies as Chihane moved against the Hyuga Clan’s seal, while Danzo announced his own candidacy.

• Chihane killed the Third Raikage, ending the war in Konoha’s victory, and Black Zetsu reported his rise to Madara Uchiha.
• Back in Konoha, Chihane urged Tsunade to confront the Senju Clan’s decline, while the Five Kage demanded his surrender and Hiruzen Sarutobi called a Jonin Council meeting to decide his fate.
• Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Chihane confronted the Five Kage at the summit, where Chihane’s presence subdued the gathered shinobi and he defeated Mifune with a small knife.
• Stories of the summit turned public opinion in Konoha toward Chihane and Orochimaru, while Orochimaru built support among the clans and Jiraiya and Tsunade joined his camp.
• Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu offered evidence of Danzo’s schemes against Hatake Sakumo and backed Orochimaru, while Chihane enlisted Uchiha Fugaku and contacted Hizashi Hyuga.
• Chihane forced Hyuga Hiashi to reveal the Caged Bird Seal Secret Technique and showed Hizashi how to apply it to the Main Family.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi returned to Konoha and learned that Orochimaru had gained village support, while Danzo announced he would run for Fourth Hokage with Root’s backing.

Orochimaru became the Fourth Hokage as Chihane helped reshape Konoha, refined the Eight Gates, and backed Orochimaru’s research. With tensions rising between villages, Chihane began training a team for the Chunin Exams, and the arc ended with Chiriku countering Might Guy in a sparring match.

• Hiruzen named Danzo and Orochimaru as Hokage candidates, but the Jonin overwhelmingly chose Orochimaru, and Chihane killed Danzo when he attacked.
• Orochimaru became the Fourth Hokage, reorganized Konoha’s leadership, and appointed Chihane to lead the ANBU with Minato as his deputy.
• Chihane traveled with Orochimaru and Hiruzen to the Daimyo’s residence, where the Daimyo appointed Orochimaru Hokage after Chihane overwhelmed the guards and visitors.
• Chihane trained Chiriku and worked with Orochimaru and Tsunade to refine the Eight Gates, eventually opening and closing the Gate of Death for their experiment.
• Orochimaru revived Tobirama Senju to help research immortality, while Chihane recruited Kabuto Yakushi as a research assistant.
• After learning the other major villages were coordinating and Yagura had become Kirigakure’s Three-Tails jinchūriki, Konoha prepared a team for the Chunin Exams under Chihane’s leadership.

Chihane led Konoha’s genin through the Kirigakure exams while Makoto Uchiha attacked Obito and the Kage’s rivalries brought the island test to a violent end. Back in Konoha, Obito recovered and allied with Chihane against Makoto, while Kakashi chose to join the ANBU assassination unit.

• Chihane trained Chiriku, Might Guy, and Itachi to break iron targets, then brought six Konoha genin to Kirigakure, where Obito reaffirmed his Hokage dream and awakened his Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
• Makoto Uchiha ambushed Obito, revealed himself, and nearly drained his blood, but Obito awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan and Susanoo before Makoto escaped.
• The candidates began the deserted-island exam, where Maruboshi Kosuke guided the Konoha group and Chiriku helped defeat Iwa and Cloud shinobi as the village teams fought over resources.
• Chihane ended Ōnoki’s attempt to attack Chiriku, splitting the island with a sword strike, and the exam was called off as the surviving genin returned to Konoha.
• Sonoko’s visit helped Obito recover, and he told Uchiha Fugaku that Makoto had attacked him using Wood Release, and Fugaku reported the claim to Orochimaru.
• Chihane teased Obito at the hospital, then learned that Obito wanted revenge on Makoto and made a plan with him.
• Chihane challenged Kakashi to confront his doubts, and Kakashi broke through them with a Flying Slash before asking to join Root’s assassination unit, and Chihane agreed and sent him to Minato.

Chihane prepares Konoha for Makoto Uchiha’s attempt to seize Kurama while pursuing other threats and missions. Makoto’s attack fails, but suspicion falls on the Uchiha Clan as the Jonin Council confronts Fugaku.

• Chihane warned Minato about Madara’s Eye of the Moon Plan, convinced him to remain in ANBU, and entered Kushina’s Sealing Space to subdue the Nine-Tails.
• Chihane tracked Hiruko and encountered Kakuzu, defeating him, collecting a billion ryo from the black market, and recruiting him.
• Kakashi and Might Guy confronted Nagato in Amegakure and fought the Six Paths, but Obito intervened and joined Nagato’s Akatsuki.
• Chihane agreed to protect Kushina during childbirth, and Makoto’s planned attack failed to draw him away before Kushina safely gave birth to Naruto.
• Makoto entered Kushina’s body to control the Nine-Tails, but Chihane’s hidden Flying Slash struck him and forced him to escape, leaving Kushina unconscious.
• Chihane confronted Fugaku at the banquet, while Minato took Kushina to the Uchiha compound and Fugaku dispelled her genjutsu before she identified Makoto as her attacker.
• At the Jonin Council, Fugaku denied the Uchiha Clan’s involvement, but Hiruzen and Chihane questioned him about Makoto, Izanagi, and the attack on Kushina.
