After his initial surprise, Bo Yi slowly calmed down.
They had just counted the players: fourteen. With Shi Xinyi, who had appeared afterward, there were fifteen in total. In other words, besides the player they already knew had died, one other player had died as well.
The rest were merely dead patient NPCs.
Two players had died on the first night. In any other instance, that would have terrified the players. Yet perhaps because the earlier misunderstanding had prepared him for worse, Bo Yi actually found the number fairly acceptable.
After the empty beds had been cleared, Miss Nina began her Room Inspection, going room by room. Bo Yi waited quite a while before Miss Nina wheeled a machine into his room.
As soon as she entered, she surveyed the entire ward. Only after seeing everyone sitting obediently on their own beds did she nod in satisfaction and call out, "Bed one, come over for your test."
A test? What kind of test?
Bo Yi turned to look curiously. The patient NPC in bed one rose at her call and obediently walked over to the machine, placing a finger on it.
With a beep, a number appeared on the machine. It fell outside the reasonable range of any test result Bo Yi knew, but Miss Nina seemed quite pleased with it. Even her tone softened a little as she addressed bed one. "Not bad."
"Go back..." She entered the number on the sheet in her hand, then raised her eyes. "Bed two."
The patient in bed two also moved at her call.
Bo Yi watched the machine closely. With another beep, bed two's result soon appeared-a number even higher than bed one's.
A happy smile spread across bed two's face, and the patient looked positively excited. In contrast, bed
