Bo Yi gave Ran Yan a very friendly smile.
Yet Ran Yan inexplicably shuddered. If Bo Yi hadn't saved her before, and if she hadn't had some idea of what he was like, she would already have started backing away.
"Bo Yi, you... are you..." She swallowed hard and gave a strained laugh. "Do you need something?"
"Don't be nervous..." Bo Yi gave her a friendly pat. "Look, I've got my hands full right now..." He pointed at the vicious-looking NPC behind him. "So..."
He asked Ran Yan softly and gently, "Could you do me a favor?"
"Will they be all right?"
Mitian crouched on top of Bo Yi's head, bobbing up and down as Bo Yi ran. Every so often, he looked back to check where the NPC chasing Bo Yi was and how far behind it had fallen.
Bo Yi rounded a corner, slightly breathless. "There's no other way..." After all, he couldn't get away right now. If he wanted to find the key to escape this place, he could only ask Ran Yan to search for it. All the aggro was on him anyway, so the other players should be relatively safe for now. Besides, today was "Amnesty Day," so they wouldn't have to fear for their safety while searching.
Mitian shook his pigeon head, then realized Bo Yi couldn't see him and added, "That's not what I meant..."
"I meant the others..."
He had listened to the entire discussion between Bo Yi and Ran Yan. There was nothing wrong with Bo Yi's plan itself-he had asked Ran Yan to find the other five players, who had scattered somewhere during the earlier chaos, and get them to search the sanatorium together for the key to escape.
The problem, however, lay with those five remaining players.
"Oh..."
