Feng Ling stood behind Su Bai, watching part of his hand disappear into the white wall.
She did not know whether the invisible mirror would stop her if she rushed toward the wall. Or perhaps what she should have been considering was whether to follow Su Bai into that mysterious space at all.
If she stayed outside, those troublesome, lowly Blood Ghosts might return.
If she entered that mysterious space, whatever was inside was most likely the culprit behind everything: the out-of-control Strange Creature that had set the bloody aura churning throughout the Mirror World and allowed filth to corrode those Ghost Creatures. It might belong to a realm Feng Ling had never encountered before, a forbidden zone where a Player would die upon contact.
So...
"Let's go." Feng Ling took a deep breath. "Don't worry. Even if I have to drain every drop of my blood, I won't hold you back in there."
"Don't worry. Rescuing everyone I come across isn't a hobby of mine, either." Su Bai held out his hand to Feng Ling, hoping this would let her enter the space beyond the mirror with him even though she could not see it.
The moment Feng Ling took Su Bai's hand, he pulled her forward. With the wall looming right before her, she widened her eyes in curiosity, unwilling to close them. Only as she drew right up to it did a surge of tension set her blood boiling. But a second later, her vision sank into a gray, hazy space, and for one brief instant, that putrid bloody aura vanished completely.
Yet that sense of cleanliness lasted barely an instant. Once Su Bai had led Feng Ling all the way through the mysterious mirror, the clean gray haze vanished, and an overwhelming wave of bloody aura
