It was described as a "mass" in human form because the figure sitting before the broken mirror probably was not human. A layer of gelatinous substance covered him from head to toe, and he looked close to losing his sense of self.
But compared with the shadows in the Mirror World that had completely forgotten their own existence, the humanoid sitting before the mirror still had discernible scraps of clothing and a mess of hair. He probably had some time left before the corruption consumed him completely.
After all, this humanoid had most likely created the Mirror World that had corrupted so many Ghost Creatures. He was the one who had started this game.
-"Whoever you are, you should not be here."
Su Bai and Feng Ling heard no sound, but unfamiliar information appeared in their minds. Presumably, the only one who could be communicating with them this way was the humanoid sitting before the mirror.
"You still have a sense of self?" Su Bai asked cautiously, shocked by the possibility.
Just as Little Fire had said, even Su Bai found it hard to imagine a Strange Creature continuing to resist its own desires and malice in an environment like this.
"If I had no consciousness, how could I stop myself from losing control?" The information appeared in their minds again. "Leave this place as soon as possible. Leave."
"I could lose control again at any moment, but next time, I may no longer be able to restrain myself."
"I am telling you this now not merely because it has been so very, very long since I last saw another 'person.' It is also because, in this prison where nothing remains but malice and despair, only 'people' who have never shown malice can reach this place. How utterly ironic."
